Honey Bangkok

The Honey Hotel closed gradually, day-by-day, during the first week of January, 2018. The sale to developers was finalised on the 1st December 2018. During the intervening eleven months, the cook sat outside the hotel begging with her disabled son. Sad. By the end of December 2018, the hotel had been gutted. All of the furniture, doors and windows had been removed. The door and window frames had been smashed out, exposing rebar in places. All of the plumbing and electric wiring had been pulled out, further damaging the walls. All of the ceilings had been brought down for the removal of the air conditioning trunking. There is now very little hope of this unique hotel ever re-opening. The best alternative that I have been able to find is the Dynasty Inn on Soi 4, fifty metres past the Nana Plaza. But it isn’t the same!

Like many others I have been travelling to Thailand using the Honey as a base since the mid 80s so thought I would take a final look..last night.Can confirm that its in darkness...no more welcome signs,coffee shop empty and all entrances boarded up.Big advertisement of a new condo building with application to buy ..probably very "peng"so expect the bulldozers to arrive any day now..Great days..happy memories but have to move on (now live in CM)..sanuk..mai pehn rai..chai..

What a convenient and reasonable and clean hotel this place has been since I started to first stay there in 1983 as a young college grad. It was so conveniently located to the main Sukhumvit road and also across the street to Soi Cowboy for some R&R. Will miss it dearly. Thank you Honey Hotel.
