This was at least our fourth stay at Jasmine City. It's very much an underrated hotel. The service attitude is excellent. Stang who attended the reception called my name right away when I went down to the lobby one morning. We were going to get upgraded to a suite on that morning. Clearly, she has been expecting to catch me. It was simply out of goodwill that manager Ken offered us an upgrade AGAIN. The suite was a joy to stay in. It was spacious, quiet, clean and got full set of kitchen utensils. There was even a washing machine. Considering the very affordable price, JC is absolutely a best buy. The location cannot be better. Terminal 21 was just across the street. In fact, We could carry our luggages and easily take airport line and MRT. The walk from the station to the hotel was 4 minutes. Last but not least, we were 200% appreciative of the breakfast with not just my favourite congee and noodles, but also a fabulous healthy corner with pumpkin, sweet corn, okra, lean turkey, tofu etc. We have stayed in many different hotels in Bangkok, can't wait to return to JC!!

1. Hostile Check-in: The receptionist was argumentative and dismissive. Despite paying for King Bed rooms, she tried to force us into Twin rooms, claiming it was a "special request" until we proved otherwise with printed documentation. She then strictly enforced the check-in time as a "protocol" despite rooms being ready. 2. Poor Linen Standards: We were lectured on potential charges for stained linens at checkin, yet my room already had an old stain on the sheet upon arrival. I had to report it immediately to avoid being unfairly penalized. 3. Noise Disturbances: Every morning, a house phone near the elevator on the 27th floor rang incessantly, which was incredibly disruptive. The hotel should use silent communication or walkie-talkies for staff instead. 4. Maintenance Issues: The blackout curtains in my room did not close properly, allowing sunlight to stream in and further ruining my sleep.

Having booked to stay here for 20 nights and paid upfront circa 100,000 Thai baht. I was a little surprised to be asked to pay a 3000 baht cash deposit upon arrival which I did but probably should have set alarm be ringing at that point if that’s how they view their clientele Anyway I don’t venture out too much in the evening so I used room service and over the first 14 nights spent approximately 5700 Thai baht which equates to about £150. I was walking to my car in the morning to be chased by the staff and informed I had an urgent memo that I have to deal with namely I had to clear the bill because I had spent too much with them. This puzzled me they have 3000 Thai baht of my cash therefore the exposure was 2700 Thai baht which was about £70 and they are meant to be a professional hotel. This type of behaviour and policy is absolutely crazy and I explained it to the staff at the front desk and their answer was as usual we’re just following orders we’re just following orders like robots. I usually stay at the Radison or Marriott in town and I’ll be moving back to them immediately when I leave in six days time for my next trip. I do believe this behaviour makes you feel a bit like a criminal somewhat anyway the staff themselves outside of the front desk are very good and the concierge is excellent. The food is average and the menu is limited for example no massaman curry and frozen fish that’s been in the freezer for far too long
