Nantra Retreat and Spa

Friendly staff. Hotel is very clean. Breakfast buffet is very poor. Don't expect to have breakfast on time. Kitchen staff turn up late. 2 out of 3 times. Toilet cannot be flushed twice in five minutes. Warm is as hot as the shower water gets after leaving it run for 5 minutes. We had to carry our valubles while staying here. The safe that they gave us did not work and was not bolted down..a weak 8 year old could pick it up and walk out with it. Not many other guests there. We only met two others. They gave up on breakfast and went to a restaurant and paid. They advertize a pool. Too small to swim in. Location is good

Firstly to the good: staff were uniformly excellent. Attentive, welcoming and trying their best. The beds were comfortable. Very comfortable. To the bad: wifi was intermittent at best. Maintenance was sadly lacking. But the worst of it all: the breakfasts. I have travelled to Bangkok 27 times, and never have I seen breakfast as bad as this. Every day the same: fried eggs, two steamed sausages and a slice of ham cut diagonally. Every day, except one when congee was provided as well. I should note that the congee was amazing! But one day out of 8 is just not going to cut it. After day 4, I checked if anything had changed (it didn’t) and proceeded to eat out. Book room only, and eat out is the tip.

Due to location and nearby environment are great, so i'd like to give it a try. Normally i dont dare to try this type of budget hotel. Overall my stay are great. Bed is good/ Water is good/ AC is good/ TV is not working ( i didnt ask for help because i am not using it anyway ) Wifi is okay. For the price like this, i may come again!
