Baan Bangpakong

My wife, Lisa, and I live in the US and we travel to Asia once a year to visit her family in Chachoengsao. Each year that we have visited her home town, we have tried a different hotel and each year we are disappointed in the quality of the experience, until this year. We found the Baan Bangpakong on the web and stayed there this past December and we will make it our home each year we are back in Thailand. It is not a hotel in the traditional sense. It is 5 or 6 nicely appointed villas that are located on the edge of the Bangpakong River. The villas are built on pilings out over a mangrove swamp. They have build amazing elevated walkways that wind through the trees to each of the villas. The manager of the resort is a wonderful lady named Sao. She made us feel very welcome and went out of her way to help us to schedule a private water taxi for a couple of days and even asked us what type of food we wanted each day so she could custom make all of our meals. One evening, the owner of the resort, Mr. Dama, called us to introduce himself and make sure that everything was going well. How often does that happen these days? If you desire a quality experience while you are in the area of Chachoengsao, then we highly recommend the Baan Bangpakong. Mr. Dama and Sao will see to it that you are treated like royalty.
