Suwanna Riverside Resort

This has nothing to do with a normal hotel, it's like living in another era - the Flintstone era. The rooms are embedded between rocks and waterfalls, which is great to take pictures. My gf loved every corner in this resort to take hundreds of pictures. On the other side, this resort is not really clean. It's old, a bit untidy and unsafe, especially the bathrooms are designed brainlessly (see my pictures).The electrical water heater is lower than the shower. The toilet basin is faced to the wrong side (a wall) which is very uncomfortable, especially if you are tall. The handwash is just a bit higher than your knees and when you enter the bathroom beware of your head if you are taller than 175 cm. It was nice to see it for 1 night but I wouldn't come again.

We booked this place at the last minute due to a change in plan. Although my expectations were not high as I know this is a locally owned and run property in a rural area, it was worse than what I had ever imagined. Pluses: the room was large and spacious and the bathroom was also large. Minuses : though the shower area was large, the toilet was cramped and faced a wall. This did not leave enough space for a person with average height to sit on the bowl properly. The room was quite dark and the curtain dirty. The bathroom smelled bad and we had to put the stand fan (provided in the room) to blow at the bathroom the entire time we were there. The shower gel and shampoo were dispensed from a wall dispenser. The room door can be padlocked from the inside and outside, and the room key came with a padlock. I was worried the whole time that someone could lock us inside the room! There was no phone in the room so I had to walk to the front desk multiple times to ask for hair dryer, room slippers, insect repellent, power adapter etc. They refused to leave the repellent with us and insisted they would spray the room for us. The staff could not speak English properly. This was one of the strangest hotels I have ever stayed in, to say the least. Lucky we were there only for one night.
