Traidhos Residence & Spa

A group of friends and I went on a camping trip to Chang Mai, after a long week of adventure. We came to settle here for a bit of R&R. The rooms were generally great and very quiet, the grounds were beautiful, a large area of houses and very wide trails. I would recommend this, it's a different type of experience for those more used to conventional hotels. The only downside is that it share's it grounds with an elite international school, and its rather far from the city.

My family and I stayed in the two-bedroom suite here at $120/night (USD) plus taxes for three nights. As advertised, the grounds were 25 kilometers outside of the city center and nestled among the surrounding villages and rice fields. The suite itself was really nice, complete with flat screen TV and a nice pool / jacuzzi right around the corner. The grounds have a nice, affordable, club/pub where we ate our meals. The recreational options were also numerous, such as biking, playing soccer/football, golf, basketball. There were, however, three concerns that kept this from a 4 star in my review: (1) the residence/spa are on the grounds of an elite international school and thus all facilities except the pool are shared with elementary, middle and high school students; (2) the jacuzzi does not actually work; it is essentially a mini pool; (3) it is very hard to find and not at all accessible to the city, unless you want to go downtown for the whole day. Estimated taxi/truck fare would be 300-500 baht each way.
