We were lucky and had an amazing driver (Peung) who accompanied us through the village. Peung showed us things we would have otherwise missed and also provided information not included on the map or signs. The village is interesting by itself but Peung's knowledge made our visit even better. If you are interested in learning more about the Hill Tribes this is a convenient village to visit!

I don't even know where to start because everything is wrong with this hotel. First of all it looks nothing like the pictures online. The staff members speak ZERO English and cannot help with anything. I wanted to walk away when I first saw the building. This should be a 1* motel at the most. It does not qualify for a hotel, let alone a 3* hotel. Not even based on Thai standard! Everything is dirty and falling apart. The rooms are dark, there is a horrible smell in the rooms the paint on the walls is peeling off, the safe does work, broken clothes hangers, no towels in my room. It took me 5 minutes to explain there were no towels in my room! The floors and doors make noise, the guests sit outside the rooms and smoke. Disgusting! I was given the wrong WI-FI code, the shower curtain is full of mold and the room stinks of mold too. I am sure that is not healthy to breathe in?! No windows in the room, the room looks like a dungeon. Everything is dusty, my room was not cleaned while I was there. I stayed for 2 nights (only because I needed to be close to the airport) and the sign was hanging on my door to have my room cleaned. The staff members sit around all day and do nothing and they don't even say hello. The mirror in the bathroom was dirty and the walls are paper thin. One can hear everything from the rooms next door and upstairs. The worst hotel I have stayed in so far in Thailand and I would not recommend for all the reasons above. And it is hardly a boutique hotel as they claim to be.

Excellent value. 600 baht for an AC room June. We stayed 4 nights. Building is old but charming, tucked away off a busy street, easy to miss. Not luxury but definitely authentic and better than basic. very peaceful, clean. There is street noise but I'm a light sleeper and didn't bother me. Bed your usual hard Thai type, but king-sized. Staff very friendly and helpful, not much English but don't let that stop you. Super easy to get a red truck for transport as one goes by every 30 seconds or so. Farang-friendly Nim City shopping and dining area very close, can easily walk in under 10 minutes. Scads of fruit vendors selling their produce from back of trucks, bus stops across the street into town or anywhere you want to go. In evening a couple blocks down the street food vendors set up their "restaurants" on the sidewalk where you can get fresh-cooked dishes for 30-35 baht. A famous massage school is on the walk to Nim City where you can get the best massages in town.
