I stayed two nights at the Star Hotel Chiang Mai which is located in a rather central area from which it is easy to reach the main places to visit. The hotel already has a very basic reception and a bit dated in style and structure; even the rooms reflect the need to be renovated. Nevertheless they are still complete with all the comforts and very clean as well as the bathroom that does not lack accessories. Functional swimming pool and gym: while essential, they are still appreciated. The breakfast served on the ground floor is not very rich in choice for both sweet and savoury; the selection for hot and cold drinks is also quite limited. Minimal hotel suitable for stays of a few nights during a visit to Chiang Mai and surroundings.

It was about 15 minutes by car from the airport to the hotel, 150B by airport taxi on the way and 150B by Grab on the way back. Located just one block from the busy street, the hotel is quiet and conveniently located just a minute walk from the BigC Super Parking side entrance. Night markets and affordable massage parlors are within walking distance. The location is good. The building itself is a bit old, but it has been renovated, and I stayed in the old building's Premier Deluxe Room, which was nice and new, with a comfy fukafka bed, a crisp WIFI, and a water-pressure temperature-controlled shower. It was just a riverside room, so the sunlight wasn't good (even during the day, it's like turning on the lights), so if the room is sunny, you should request a room facing the hotel entrance parking lot. The hotel just sleeps, and if the focus is on the costa location, I think it's the best hotel. I had a comfortable time, so I recommend it.

Great location and friendly staff. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was not that great. Easy to get around by walking. Lots of restaurants and markets near by and easy to walk to old city
