Budsaba Resort and Spa

I ended up staying here by accdent after my original reservation at another hotel was cancelled. The staff are very friendly but speak very little English so it is difficult to make yourself understood. The room is fine, small but clean and comfortable. The pool is large and pretty and since I seem to be the only guest, quiet. However, the "resort" is in the middle of nowhere, with nothing to do around and nowhere else to go for food, but the restaurant closes at 5pm. They still do room service, however. The food and drink situation is strange: everytime I order something (penaeng, iced coffee, whatever) off the menu, they dont have it and I have to have something else. The breakfast was just brought to me, no choice about what it was: one fried egg, two slices of corned beef, two very strange hot dogs and some sliced cucumber, followed by a thai shrimp soup: not for vegetarians, clearly. The "fitness suite" is a couple of old machines in a hut outside, and theres a karaoke room.... All in all, its clean, its friendly, but its odd and inconvenient. I have no idea how or why this resort is here.

Rooms are acceptable as is the pool area. But difficult to get anything to eat after 5pm, which I was told is when the restaurant closes. Not ideal, when the hotel is miles from anywhere else.
