Eastiny Plaza hotel

I had booked 10 nights in June 2022. When I arrived at the hotel I found it closed. A security person/builder pointed me to Eastinny Inn up the road. Eastinny Inn is smaller and of a lower rating. The receptionist/manager called "J" looked after me and made the best of a bad situation

As my regular hotel has become popular and has increased its prices, I was looking for somewhere different to stay and came across the Eastiny Group which has seven hotels in Pattaya. I managed to get a good deal for six nights and the hotel ticked most of my boxes: a good location (at the top of soi 8, just behind Festival Mall and the Hilton, 5 minutes walk to the beach), a large room and a decent pool. The room was very clean, the air conditioning effective and there was plenty of hot water although the tap on the bath did jam and I had to get the handyman to fix it. I enjoyed the massive, mainly shaded pool (the water was fresh!) with plenty of sunbeds and extra towels. An urn in reception (which also offered free safety deposit boxes) provided constant hot water for making drinks (I always travel with my trusty mug, a plastic spoon, English and Chinese tbags and good instant coffee). I was worried that the room might be too noisy at night because of all the bars but it was fine. The hotel seems popular with expats who stay for several months. I could have done with a chair on my balcony and the tiles on the pool need fixing. But all in all very good value.

I have been coming to pty for 15 years 4-6 times a year now and maybe stayed at eastiny place about 10 times. I have always been happy with my stay but this last time not. They now have a very rude thai man working on the nigtshift. I see him make problems with many customer. 1 night me and my friend come home and this man was arguing with other customers and after started with me too. Just kept on and would not stop again. !5 years in pty i have never had any problems like this. Made me angry too and this man actually got physical with me too. I always talk good to people who talk good to me. I will tell all my friends and will not recommend this hotel as long as this man is working here. My friend wrote a complaint to hotel but no response so far.
