I was a little nervous taking on Pattaya. I'd been to Thailand a million times in the past but I've steered clear from this town noting its reputation. But when I got bored of Bangers during my latest visit and wanted to quickly try some place new, I'm glad I did it from the vantage of the Nova Gold. I paid AUD41 per night for a fantastic room, that was quiet yet conveniently located to the city's major malls - it was AUD1.10 on Grab to get to Terminal 21 on the back of a bike. The bed was wonderfully firm which is exactly how I like it, and the gym was incredible. I didn't try the pool but it looked inviting. Yes Pattaya remains as sleazy as it ever was - and you'll see no shortage of colourful characters in the lobby as you saunter through - but there is also plenty of other things to see and do if that's your caper. And whichever way you swing, you can do it all from the Nova Gold.

We stayed 17 nights in 2 rooms that was good. The shower in One of the rooms was cold so, the hotel could not fix and changed the room without fuss. The location and level of service is impressive. The Irish bar has now closed, but other businesses are there, like laundry, hair dressing, food outlets, etc. The pool is in a shade but can be relaxing. Guests can use the pool in the sister hotels nearby. The only problem we had was the level of spot lighting not being sufficiently bright even when all is switched on. You have smart TV with many channel choice. The management of the hotel were helpful when our flight was changed due to the war in the gulf and need to stay extra night that the staff accommodate us despite the hotel being almost full. They provided us with a phone to speak with the airline to resolve the matter and printed our boarding passes. We are grateful for this assistance. I will not hesitate to stay at this hotel again when returning to pattaya.

All in all, not a bad hotel. It is not located in a noisy location, and the sea is relatively close. High-tech extras in the room, big bed. The downside is bad room lighting. Lots of different switches and light bulbs, and you don't get normal bright lighting, even if you turn everything on, because there is no main lamp in the center of the ceiling. The balcony is also nice and the view is acceptable, but when it rains, it gets completely wet, along with the chairs and the table, so that during and after the rain it is impossible to sit there. The remote control from the air conditioner is attached to the wall, impossible to take - inconvenient. The refrigerator is small, all the drinks available have not fit in, the cooling is weak and the freezer is not at all. Foreign hair is everywhere, it's a classic, and white underwear stains are pretty much the same. The biggest downside for me was that there was no way to eat my available food. There's no restaurant there, so there's nowhere to heat your food, no appliances. But overall, the impressions are positive. I can recommend it.
