Jomtien Beach House and Spa

One night in the sheakespeare was enough for me. The rooms are nice and clean, the staff friendly and you even get shampoo and soap. Just across the street every evening is a contest with car sound systems. Therefore you have to sleep with a lot of bass and techno music. It is a pitty it seems loud music has a higher priority. And maybe the cars are paying for the lost costumers in the future.

A pleasant place to stay. Room with a balcony was large, good air con. We got what we paid for, which wasn't a lot. A jug for coffee/tea would have been nice. Breakfast each morning was a good choice. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Note: there are 3 'Shakespeares' in this block. I'm writing about the one with the lift. Minuses: Room service for 9 days was close to zero. 2 bottles of water outside the door most days. Everything must be provided by visitors; soap, shampoo, dishwashing detergent. No room internet. Only in the dining room, and that's open to a zillion mosquitoes. Fridge goes off when you take the key. Expect everything to be defrosted by the time you return. Pluses: lots of small cafes nearby, 7-11 at the corner. My best meals were at the Dutch cafes near the Jom Tien Police station. . mini bus to the city 10baht.

I needed to stay one night. When I checked in I was offered a fourth floor room but the receptionist did ask if that was OK ( I'm old!). he went on to explain that he had one second floor room but the view was not good. Good service idea. I took the 2nd floor room. This is a very old hotel but it was clean and for the money ..OK. The free breakfast was quite good too which made the price good value. My experience certainly was not the same as John T. There was no towel in the bathroom and when I went to reception the Thai boy got me one straight away. I didn't use the aircon but it was ancient! The free breakfast and large room give this hotel the edge over most of the other same- price hotels in Jomtien. It's 50 meters from the beach and surrounded by restaurants and nightlife if that's what you want.You can take a Songtaew (Bhat bus) into Pattaya easily.
