Baywatch Boutique Hotel Ao Nang

I had booked this hotel on booking.com (it was available on agoda & other sites too) 2 weeks prior to arrival. The reviews & ratings there were not bad, has some positive comments. Upon arrival, we found the hotel has closed down! There was absolutely no communication from the hotel about this! We were very lucky as it was low season and we were able to get a room at a lovely hotel across the road at a good rate. Do not stay at this hotel. I wish I hadn't doubted the comments here. But really people, do not book this hotel. It is irresponsible to let people book then close shop with no notice whatsoever. And now that I've seen it myself, it is wedged in a small dodgy alley right next to the bar. There are MANY hotels in the vicinity that are much much better than this crap place. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

Air con leaked, holes in the bathroom wall under sink , duct tape holding the bathroom screen together, live band until 2am under the hotel so very noisy, husband and I checked out after I night we definitely could not have stayed the other 4 days

Short Version: A scam based on false pictures, hiding disgraceful s**thole rooms of a hotel built into a crack alley. Avoid at all costs. Full Review: I've travelled in many classes of hotels and guest houses over the years (for reference, the previous accommodation being the cute, clean and simple Grandma Keaw Guesthouse in Chiang Rai). Nothing could have prepared me for this utter disgrace in terms of deceitful misrepresentation and quality. I booked this hotel via booking.com, the pictures of the rooms and pool looked stunning. My GF and I decided to pay for a beautiful boutique hotel for two nights to start the second relaxing half of our holiday in Thailand. We arrived at 9pm directly from the airport. The taxi dropped us off at an alleyway of the main strip (not quite the entrance that was expected). But fine. After entering the alley, the entrance of the hotel was found, 10 rickety metal steps leading to the lobby. At this point, alarm bells were sounding, it looked like someone had built a residence in a space between two normal buildings. Upon being lead via awkward stair cases to my room, i was further shocked. The room was an absolute disgrace. The walls were lumpy and the paint completely chipped, the furniture looked like it had been rescued from a rubbish dump. The shower base was completely corroded like it was the original installation from the 1950's. The bathroom stank so bad, they had hung up air fresheners to try and disguise it. Not to mention the loose electrical cabling. The thin swimming pool is crushed in the depths of a crack alley, and is dwarfed on all sides by buildings, at a rough count, there are at least 120 air conditioning heat exchangers dumping hot humid air on to the already suffocated pool area. After paying 4200bt for a two night stay... I instantly and politely told the lady who took us to the room my abject disappointment of the room (in comparison to the pictures online). I highlighted the multiple failings. I said to her it's a 1 star establishment, 2 at best, pretending to be 3 to 4 stars. She actually agreed. But stated there could be no refund. This was not my main concern, my main concern was leaving this absolute dive, which really affected our ability to enjoy the first night of our stay in Krabi. We avoided going back to the room until we absolutely had to. The next morning we left first thing (without any refund) and checked into the wonderful hotel across the street (same price range) and could not be happier. Everything is a world apart. Do not allow yourself to be fooled by this place. It will ruin your mood, holiday stay and at the same time, rob you blind.
