We are mid way through our stay at Krabi resort we are very happy with our choice. The luxury grand rooms are great: set back into the trees, and wonderfully quiet. It is so lovely sitting on the balcony watching the butterflies and birds. The rooms are spacious and kept clean. There are plenty of towels, both for showering and for the pool/beach. The beds are very comfortable and spacious. Our 12 year old is on a separate bed which was organised with our booking without a problem. Ok the hotel it is a little dated in places, and the area around the main swimming pool is a little tired and needs a repaint? but the area is clean, safe and the grounds are well maintained. The staff have been very polite and welcoming. Everyone smiles and bows. Of course speaking a couple of Thai words will always help. The food is really nice and it is well priced. You can eat at the swim up bar if you choose to, and can charge things to your room. I had read some reviews about bugs etc but I havent noticed that being a problem. We do have a little lizard living with us, but he's cool and it is a tropical country! No different to having a house spider. I would recommend Krabi resort as a lovely base for Ao Nang.

I was there only for one night and spent less time in the room. However because it was raining and it’s a resort amidst lot of trees, the room had a misty feeling and I wasn’t feeling fresh. It had a weird smell. Also the washrooms are a bit old and not maintained well. I wouldn’t go there again for sure but it wasn’t too bad thankfully for a night. I can get better experience in same price because I have to sleep in the room even if the resort surroundings are too beautiful. The breakfast and other facilities may be good but I didn’t avail it so no comments there. The location is great and walkable to the beach, they also have a private beach is what I heard. Plus it’s accessible to the restaurants and market.

The hotel is extremely well located and benefits from a private beach, which is a real plus! For these two points, we chose to stay there despite the mixed reviews. First of all, we were poorly welcomed because they had not taken into account the request for an extra bed for an 11-year-old child. At first, I was assured that I had not made the request. Fortunately, I had everything on booking! Finally, it was booking's fault! We were offered to add a rollaway bed in a room that did not allow it or to sleep 3 in the same bed!!!!! I refused and requested a room that matched my request. We had to pay an additional 8700 baht!!! (We would not have chosen this hotel at this price!!!) Anyway! Past the annoyance and the bad faith of the staff, we take our new room…scratched parquet, water damage in the bathroom… We move again the next day!! Summary: the hotel is very well located! The private beach is a definite advantage and the breakfast is hearty with a lot of choices. Nevertheless, the hotel is extremely aging, the infrastructure is dated and lacks maintenance, the pool is horrible (kitsch and dilapidated…fortunately there is the beach!!!) If you have a choice, try to find another hotel located facing the sea and close to the main street. There are few, but we saw a few, further down the street!
