Moonlight Bay Resort

Moonlight Bay Resort is a little gem. Clean and tidy with well kept buildings and grounds. Good food and consistently great service by all the staff, from restaurant to bar and cleaning to grounds-workers. Exceptionally good iced long island tea too! Thanks to you all for making it an incredible stay.

Absolutely fantastic. This was our first time in Thailand and we will definitely be back. The hotel is very tranquil and relaxed. The food is excellent, and all the team are brilliant. It would be unfair to single anyone out as they all welcomed us with open arms and have really added to the whole experience. We stayed for 12 nights which is quite unusual as most people stayed 3 or 4 nights as they are travelling around. If you get the chance, stay here, highly recommend.

We loved the peaceful vibe here; private beach cove. Great fish/seafood bbq or chicken/vegetable kebabs on Friday night; well organised. Items priced individually; delicious salad and fresh corn on the cobs. Staff are welcoming and attentive when needed; it’s a relaxed property. The beach cove is rocky but simple at high tide and easy for a cool down ‘bob’ at any point in the day. We stayed 6 nights; plenty of walkable restaurants. Dirty fish; Shanti and Coco Mar are all lovely sunset venues. Taxi van and scooter side car available adjacent to the resort check in. Popular restaurants inland south too. Breakfast is la carte choice including eggs and avocado in various styles; American pancakes or yoghurt and granola. All beautifully presented. Juices, toast, croissants and fruit buffet style with Thai savory or desserts offered daily for sampling. Su was welcoming and efficient on check in; the passionfruit drink was the best welcome drink of any hotel on our 3 month trip so far! Thanks to the boys that carried our heavy bags upstairs; housekeeping was excellent too. We chose an ocean view room; worth it to gaze at that view in bed. Steep but short climb necessary. Lots of different room types some darker in the shade on the cliff top; mischievous moneys visited once. The inland pool access block is adjacent to the road; 3 floors, no lift. Plenty of sunbeds; happy hour cocktail vibe is welcoming and a nice rocky setting. We would recommend and certainly stay again. Even better if: 1. Please instal another coffee machine! 2. Purchase new towels; thicker & larger 3. Several guests slipped entering the pool; a handrail would improve the safety 4. More sun shades especially when the resort is fully booked; or temporarily move from the closed bar area in the day? Thank you!; we made some lasting friendships because the resort is small. Less suitable for families. Sorry we inadvertently took the key on check out; all returned by taxi courier!
