Peace Paradise Beach Resort

The service and friendliness of the staff are exceptional even by the high Thai standards. When I checked in, the room with terrace to the pool cost me a good 30 euros, but it was great, the last night I paid the high season price of 100 dollars, that seemed a bit high to me. At a reasonable rate, the resort is located directly on the beautiful beach a clear recommendation.

The hotel has a fantastic position on the beach. The pictures look very alluring, and the 'full' price of 3,000 baht or more a night make or sound like a premium hotel. Sadly, it's a bit old and run-down. It is comfortable and was ok for the big discount we paid. But doors don't shut or lock properly, taps are loose, everything needs a coat of paint and some TLC. The pool is a wonderful asset and I enjoyed it, once I did the daily chore of clearing out the fallen leaves. But take care, since one set of steps has already broken off (and left at the side of the pool) and another is about to break. Just one ladder remains safe to use. The manager, Chai, is lovely, friendly and helpful, he is not to blame. And it was low season, so we were the only guests there. But the booking sites say there is breakfast available, a restaurant and massage, for example, but none of these were open. Being low season,most of the other restaurants and bars nearby were also closed. It's ok, but I think people need to know this stuff when they book. Also it is NOT wheelchair friendly. there is a bridge over the pool to get to the Beachside rooms, but the ramps are far too steep and narrow. You then have to navigate steps to the beach itself. A shame, but it needs some investment or owners need to realise it will never be good value at its full price

We weren't actually staying here (sadly!) but visited my friends here on a daily basis for drinks. We loved it and will stay here next time we're in Lanta. I think what made it most special were the staff, in particular Jun, the smiliest, happiest, nuttiest lady in Thailand. What a total superstar. It's right on the beach with a decent sized lap pool, everything you could want. Class.
