Baan Po Ngam Resort

We arrived as a family group taking four bungalows. The approach to the place was smelly and full of litter all down the road. It is about 2k from the beach so the free tuk tuk was very useful especially as the restaurant was never open except for breakfast,when we asked about this the staff told us that we should go to a restaurant in town, they were indifferent and just shrugged. THe rooms were clean although pretty basic which is what you would expect for the price, the grounds were lovely with lush vegetation. The worst was one of our group experienced some tingling sensations in the pool, on kinvestigation we discover one of the immersed pool lights were broken and still live. ,We reported it to reception but again, they didn't understand the seriousness of what we were tring to say. Consequently nothing appeared to be done so we didn't use the pool again and tried to warn others. After saying all that after a few days the staff did start to smile and the laundry service and airport taxi's were very good. I'm afraid we will not be returning or recommending to others.

This resort is a good place to stay! The staff is great and the food in the restaurant was one of the best meals i had during my time in asia :) the bungalows are nice and the beaches next to the resort are wonderful! I especially liked that the resort is quite small with a couple of bungalows, so it's a perfect place to relax and not having a crowd of tourists around you!

Ok.... first off, this place is not very expensive, so don't expect a lot. It's basic. It has a very small pool. But calling this place a resort is stretching it. The rooms were clean enough but attention to detail was lacking. The room we stayed in was a cabin like room (shared one wall with another cabin like room). The bathroom was .... interesting. It was a cement room down three steep steps that was part open air (up high). It had nice tile on the floor, a cute planter with local plants and good hot water for the shower but the skylight shed roof made it a sauna during the day. And at night, it was a bit treacherous negotiating those steps. The biggest thing wrong with this hotel is that it's too far away from the beach and the town. The best part of this hotel is the staff that tries to help and sometimes is able to give you a ride to the beach area. I'll sum things up by saying that I'll probably not stay there again..... and my standards are not all that high.
