Andaman Princess Resort & Spa

Andaman Princess somehow reminded me of a 5-star hotel I stayed in Cuba many years ago. Its glory days long gone with signs of wear and tear here and there due to lack of capital investment, yet possessing a certain charm, well maintained and very clean. The staff are so kind and professional. They do work really hard to make everything look nice and operate seamlessly. The rooms are huge with many high quality wooden elements. Comfortable king size plus bed. Good soundproofing. Air conditioning is working well. Water pressure is good, sanitary-ware fully functional and in good condition. Very good sleep quality. The gardens are beautiful and are being taken care of very well. Big squeaky clean swimming pool with salt filtered water. Great breakfast. The location is right at the long white sandy beach edged by beautiful pine trees. Very peaceful, great for walking, sunbathing and swimming. The boat pier is within several minutes distance by foot. If needed the hotel will provide a shuttle too. The connectivity to the mainland is ensured by ferry which operates on schedule and numerous long tail boats running randomly very often. The hotel will help you arrange a boat free of charge if needed. There are several restaurants, an ATM and convenience stores at the pier as well. The food at the hotel’s Sea View restaurant is definitely something which might be improved, but is still okay for a quick snack. Cocktails and other drinks at the restaurant and pool bar are of good quality and reasonably priced. Unless you are a type of person who can’t fully relax in a non-nearly-perfect setting tending to take notice of the minor drawbacks, I definitely recommend this hotel. It provides mind-blowing value for money offering a genuine beach resort experience at the price of cheaper small hotels! In my opinion it’s great for both a short beach staycation and a longer vacation alike. Big kudos to the staff for doing such a great job!

Large rooms, very large structure. Hearty breakfast. Super pool. Restaurant on the beach

The hotel was very good value, with large room and large bed, good bathroom with bath and shower, room had fridge, kettle, TV, hairdryer, desk etc price was only 2,500 compared to nearby Khao Lak hotels four or five times the price or more. The issue is access you need to take a short ferry boat.The passenger ferry is frequent but the car ferry is limited 7:30-17:30 only 7 trips. You could pay to park your car on the mainland side and take the passenger ferry. If you call the hotel they will send a car to pick you up at the ferry. It is only a few minutes drive. The hotel has a buffet breakfast. There is a large swimming pool, gym and spa. It is on the waterfront with a sandy beach, which was very quiet. The pool has sun beds but these were grabbed early by the customers from Russia and Germany (ha ha) so we opted for chairs in the shade to read a book. We did a day trip tour to the Similan Islands which was very well organized. The dinners in the seafood restaurant were very good quality and taste and not expensive. The staff are OK friendly but a bit slow, you need to chill out and relax - this is Thailand beach life not a city business hotel. The hotel decoration is a bit traditional Thai and very clean. The lift did not work but only one floor to ascend. I think it was good value and quality was great for the price. Paying four or five times higher for Le Meridien or similar does not give five times better quality or service.
