Baannueng at Kata

There were a few disadvantages I came across when staying at this hotel, as well as a couple of advantages. Firstly, their showers do not have any hot water which isn't pleasant after coming back from the beach or when the temperature drops at night time. I mentioned this to the staff and they said the only rooms that have hot water are the bungalow rooms (I don't know why they'd only put hot water in some of the rooms and not others). They also ask for a 1,000 THB deposit upon check-in which I was unaware of and caused some inconvenience. Their pool is pretty dirty, building infrastructure is old and in need of some renovation, and there was no WIFI in the room. Also, the day I arrived I found someone else's hair in the bathroom basket which hadn't been cleaned by housekeeping and this really grossed me out. However, I found the staff to be friendly and smiley (not so helpful at times though). It's in a good location - about a 15 minute walk to Kata Beach, the rooms are very spacious and they give you clean towels everyday.

The hotel advertised as having WiFi. There is none. They ask you to use the restaurant WiFi which forces you to leave your room and sit outside the restaurant. The wooden flooring outside my unit were completely rotted and broken apart. A safety hazard. The management just shrugs and claims there is nothing to be done. Avoid this property.

Not a bad place to stay for a couple of days. The rooms are good and the shower is excellent. Don't bother with the small pool it is in need of major renovation and the breakfast is very poor. Location is good.
