Ban Yuwanda Phuket

We stayed in Baan Yuwanda for two nights when staying in Phuket. The hotel was very clean and new, however it had the hardest bed in all of Thailand. I found it very hard to sleep because of the bed and the loud mosque in the early morning. We chose this hotel because of the location, however it wasn't that close to what we were looking for. We were able to check out Kata and Karon beaches by walking approx. 15-20 mins then catching the regular city bus which goes to and from both beaches. It was also about a 10 min drive into Rawai from the hotel. We found it difficult to get around by foot, we should have rented a scooter while staying at this hotel. It does have a nice view of the beach. Also, there is a rooftop with a beautiful view (you can see the ocean one way, and the big buddha in the other direction), however the rooftop does not have anything on it, it is totally unfinished; hopefully they will do something with it. Baan Yuwanda staff were friendly, there was daily housekeeping, and the rooms had A/C and a TV. Everything in the room was practically brand new, and the bathroom was large and had a nice hot shower! If you want to get away from the craziness of Patong, and the prices of Kata and Karon area, then this would be a pretty good option.

I was driving around to find the most suitable bungalow for our vacation. This resort is found in a small street whose top end is the location of a seafront mosque...very beautiful mosque. I don't know why the rooms are decorated in pink but whatever I'm happy with their standard facilities; well functioning air con, an LCD sumsung TV, a fridge and wifi access entire the area (well it isn't that large just in the room and in front of it). I found a lot of local restaurants around 5 minutes walk awai and they are almost all Halal for muslims like us. I like driving to Rawai, Nai Harn and Naya beaches during our stay. Very good place with good facilities... highly recommended!
