Hotel The Journey Patong New

Me and my friend stayed for 4 days in this property. Pro’s 1. The property is around 1.5 km from Patong beach- walkable distance or can take a bike taxi right outside the hotel 2. Bike rental is next door, hotel staff will enable so no need for depositing passport 3. 711/Family Mart/ATM are right across 4. Very friendly staff - Flora and Rain. Made up for any shortcomings in the property 5. Rooms are decent and clean with balconies and big windows Con’s 1. Not next to the beach- 10 min walk 2. No elevators hence have to tug the luggage to your floor 3. Suitable for solo travellers/ couples. Children may not have much options Overall would come back as it was very well within budget and staff are accommodating and always helpfulMore

Bed sheets, toilets dirty, the taps are leaking, communicating with the receptionist is really difficult, one the breakfast time is over they won't serve you even it's 5 mins late, you get 2 small water bottles free everyday and that too you have to ask everyday and rooms are cleaned once in 3 days, just don't waste your time here.

The Journey Hotel Patong is an old dirty run-down Hotel located up in the back blocks about 20 minutes Inland from the beach. The hotel looks nothing like the photos depicted on hotel websites. Even the photos of the facade of the building are taken at night so they can try and hide its grotty appearance in the day time. There are no lifts and the rooms are very old and painted in horrible gawdie colors. Everything in the room is dirty old and.needs painting and needs complete refitting & refurbishment and there is not a housekeeping whatsoever throughout my entire stay. The bathroom is absolutely disgusting with the mold and filth all over, the wash basin taps loose and coming off, and the shower is run with an electric heating unit on the wall which is useless and the water comes out cool. Fortunately it's a humid climate so a cool shower was okay. They was no hand towels, no face washes, no soap, no shampoo, and the towels were old and tatty. The beds were horrible and rock-hard and after lying on the bed for now if you would ache all over. The bed sheets were all with tears in them and should have been put in the rubbish bin. It was one bottle of water to put in my room on the first day and it was not replenished. With the dirt and filth and nothing in the area along with the horribly uncomfortable beds and sleepless nights I did not stay for the entire time I had to fight for I checked out and went to another hotel. There was no soundproofing and you could hear everything going on in the caridors and the other rooms. The only positive thing was the staff were very friendly. I would not recommend this place and would not stay here ever again it is a dirty run down very poorly maintained Hotel.
