Patong Bay House

For 1000 BAT-s( 30 CAD$ )you get a clean , nice room with a/c, tv and newer bathroom with shower. Location it's good not to far from the action , market, mall, Thai boxing stadium , etc The day staff helpful and speaks English but obviously you can't discuss Shakespeare works with him, so don't expect the impossible.The night lady ok but doesn't speak too much English. No elevator between the first and second floor you have to take the stairs so keep that in mind if your motion range it's limited. I stayed on the 6 - th floor facing the street after 12 midnight till almost morning it's very noisy because of the karaoke bar,that's the reason I don't give them a 5. I was tired so didn't really mattered to me and I don't know if something can be done about that because of the way the bathroom window and door are constructed. No safety box in my room and no card access just bulky key which stays at the reception in a key cabinet ( I have seen guests walking in and reaching for they keys , so....) a bit of a safety issue so plan for that. All above said I will stay there again, good value.

My room on 7th floor was very big, with balcony, private bathroom, TV, free wi-fi, boiler, etc. Very comfortable bed. Position is enough central, in a quiet zone. Staff is very kind, smiling me everytime and always offering their help. Prices are very good, so I suggest this hotel to everybody!

I'm very confused this hotel has made so many people unsatisfied. I've stayed here about 2 months 2012 and are staying here one month now 2013. I find the rooms both clean and fresh. The only problem is if you leave food inside it will attract ants. Easily solved by just putting all the garbage outside on the balcony. Regarding the internet I find it both stabile and fast, am downloading up to 600 kb/s. There are pretty much only 2 problems I can find with this hotel. First one is it's situated next to bars and a busy road. So if you stay at the "beach" side it can be a bit noisy. Second is it's a bit of a walk if you are going to the center of Patong or Bangla road. I for sure cant find anything cheaper with the same quality in Patong. Normal walk in rate is around 700 Baht and now I'm having it a month for 10.000 baht plus electricity.
