Salathai Resort

We had a confirmed booking at Salathai for 14 nights from 25/9/15, imagine our surprise when we arrived to find the resort a demolition site. We knew the hotel was closing but had been assured by management that it wasn't going to happen until after Christmas, any way we asked the taxi driver to take us to "The Nap" hotel which is a sister hotel of Salathai, luckily for us (and them) they had our reservation transferred over - they just forgot to tell us!! We have since returned home after 14 peaceful nights at The Nap - refer my review separately for The Nap.

Patong is a lively area, it's never sleep. There are so many bars and restaurants. However, stay here make me feel relax. I like the sense of Thai and welcoming of this hotel. Although it is not quite new, my room is clean and comfortable. The staffs are also nice and friendly. Recommended

I had a last minute stop over in Patong with some friends who were staying at the resort. We did not make a booking but the reception was kind enough to offer us a room for 3 people for the night. I did find Bath3000 rather expensive seeing that we did not get any sense of our moneys value in return. Never the less. We paid it and were taken to the room. First there was no bed for myself (the 3rd person) I expected to have at the very least a bed to sleep in but I was pointed to a sofa day bed .... Not impressed .... I asked for the person to ensure I have bedding (i,e, sheets, pillow etc) nothing was arranged by the time we came back from our nights explorations of the town, At 2am in the morning the last thing you want is to walk back to reception and ask where are the sheets and duvet you requested for when you checked in, While all this happened I requested for a taxi service to pick me up as I had a early flight back to Dubai via Singapore the morning at 8;45 which means I have to have a taxi pick me up at 5:40am to ensure I get to the airport on time. The front office clerk (Thai person - believe his name is something like neauw ) promptly refused to assist and said (NO TAXI) seeing that Patong is one of the busiest tourist destinations I refused his comment and said I demand he call for a taxi to which his answer to me was No - YOU GO FIND ONE YOURSELF.... This is the last thing I expected to have happened to end my wonderful 2 week holiday..... We demanded the manager on Duty to come and assist,,, or at least have a number to get someone to help cause there was no way I was going to miss my flight due to this little pricks lack of the understanding to customer (GUEST RELATIONS) mean. I walked across the street where a very helpful bar manager called and arranged for a taxi with in one minute, I returned to my Room relieved but equally PISSED RIGHT OFF. A knock at the door, I opened and the Security (not front office) shoved a duvet inner in my hands with no duvet cover..... to say the least I was Beyond frustrated at this moment,,,, I ended up sleeping on a towel and covered myself with another one The taxi arrived on time and got me to the airport save and sound. AVOID THIS BY ALL MEANS - The service is utterly poor and you get ZERO Value for money..... The worst experience I EVER ENCOUNTERED at any resort. SALATHAI your staff and customer service spoiled what should have been my last night in Thailand to the extreme.
