Narumon Bungalow

We booked a bungalow just before New Years for a three day family holiday. The bungalow has three rooms and accommodates 6; so with 5 in our family it seemed ideal. It is right across from the beach. However, the beach at high tide is nonexistent and you can hardly get to it at any time because of the banks of rental chairs and umbrellas that clog the oceanfront. The rooms were poorly equipped and shabby. There was no comforter or top sheet on the bed. Instead there was a large towel-like blanket that only covered 2/3 of the bed. The rooms were clean but smelled. The bathrooms were fairly good but the sink leaked across the floor. This is not a huge issue in a Thai style bathroom. The bungalow had a nice deck and a covered carport for parking. There was a small fridge on the deck. The air conditioners all worked but the weather was too cool to need them. During the three nights that we were there, we had three sets of Thai guests in the bungalows on both sides. During the day they seemed to yell at each other a lot. We live in Thailand and I found this a little odd. They got up pretty early and started making a lot of noise. This may have been the maids. There were also a couple of nights when people sat out drinking and talking loudly until 3 am. Maybe this was because New Years was a few days away or maybe it is the type of place. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Cha-am is generally quieter and more reasonable than Hua Hin. There was lots of good food to be found from roadside stands.
