Anda Resort Koh Lipe

We spent 3 nights and 4 days at Castaway Koh Lipe Resort, and after this stay I completely understand why people call Koh Lipe the “Maldives of Thailand.” This place was truly magical and easily one of the highlights of our trip. We stayed in a two-level bungalow just around 20 meters from the beach. In front of the bungalow, there were two hammocks and a bench where you could simply sit, relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Downstairs was a small bathroom, while upstairs was the bedroom with a balcony overlooking the beach. One of the most magical things was falling asleep to the sound of the waves. You could literally lie in bed at night and listen to the sea. It’s such a simple thing, but it made the whole experience feel incredibly special. And then in the morning, you wake up just a few steps away from the beach. 🌊 The bungalow was cleaned every day and we always received fresh towels, which we really appreciated. Another highlight was the food. The menu had a really big selection, so even after a few days there were still plenty of things to try. You could choose between European dishes and traditional Thai food, as well as a great selection of desserts. Having a meal while looking directly at the beautiful beach, turquoise water and boats was definitely one of my favorite parts of the stay. The location itself feels very peaceful and private, but at the same time there is so much to do that you definitely won’t get bored. There are several yoga sessions throughout the day, including morning meditation around sunrise. You can rent snorkeling equipment, kayaks and SUP boards, or join snorkeling and diving trips. They also offer opportunities for complete beginners who would like to learn how to dive. And the absolute game changer for us: a traditional Thai massage right next to the beach. Hearing the sea while getting a massage just a few meters from the water was an amazing experience and something I would definitely recommend. Snorkeling was another unforgettable part of our stay. The water around Koh Lipe was some of the clearest I have ever seen in my life, and being able to explore it directly from such a beautiful beach made the whole experience even better. Even though the resort feels peaceful and secluded, you are not isolated. After just a 3–4 minute walk, you can find other restaurants, massage places and more, so it is very easy to explore outside the resort whenever you feel like it. Last but not least, the staff were incredibly kind, helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. They really contributed to making these four days so special. Castaway Koh Lipe Resort was the perfect combination of beautiful nature, relaxation, great food and activities. We had an amazing time here and would absolutely recommend it. 10/10 – a place I would happily come back to. 🌴🌊

Our second year staying with Castaway and it was as charming as we remembered. We typically visit in June outside of peak tourism, but this doesn't make the resort any less popular. We love the location right by the sunrise beach, this year our room was mere steps from the ocean. The elevated view from the upstairs bedroom meant we left the blinds open to wake to stunning sunrises over the ocean. The room was cleaned every days, no complaints - a comfortable bed, wonderful eco-focus and moments from the ocean. A hidden tropical paradise and 'island vibe' atmosphere, quite far removed from the walking street which runs throughout the island. The food and coffee was top notch and great value for money - undoubtedly some of the best on the island, in our opinion - favourites were the lemongrass chicken and penang curry! The castaway breakfast alone will keep you full until sunset, at which point their 2 4 1 cocktails were a delicious way to end the day - only downside is they're on sunrise side, so we'd usually enjoy a couple drinks at 4pm and the walk along the beach to north point beach for the best sunset view - it's a hard life in paradise! Huge thanks to Min in the restaurant who always served us with a big smile, kind words and almost always had our drinks ready before we'd even arrived! We also did a couple of dives with Castaway divers, as always a great time with Tos, Garfield and our guide, Zaw. If you're into macro, this is the dive centre to dive with! As a couple of dive pros we'd highly recommend them for courses or trying diving for the first time! Our only downsides with visiting in slightly rainy season is the somewhat massive mosquitos - Castaway provides complimentary repellent for that too! But they are pretty hungry, so just something to bear in mind if that's a big no go for you. Many thanks to the whole team, we look forward to staying again next year!

Our stay at Castaway Resort was an absolutely magical experience. We stayed in a beachfront bungalow, and it was pure bliss: waking up every morning to a simply indescribable sunrise view right from our bed is a memory we will never forget. Another major highlight was the snorkeling trip organized by the resort, which allowed us to discover stunning marine life. On the culinary side, we truly treated ourselves from morning to night, enjoying a very good breakfast to start the day and an excellent, flavorful dinner right by the beach. The setting is gorgeous, the atmosphere is incredibly peaceful, and the service is top-notch. If you are looking for the perfect tropical escape with a breathtaking view, this is the ideal spot!
