Sky Villa

Stayed for five nights with extended family. The villa itself was lovely - very spacious, plenty of seating and “private” bathrooms for all. Our villa contained three bedrooms and the beds were rock hard, but with a wide variety of pillows that made it easy to establish a comfort level. The pool area and the view were sensational, giving you a 180 degree panorama of the beach and mountain Wat. You’re treated to some beautiful sunsets and sunrises throughout your stay and while the sun may become oppressive at times, thick black curtains can alleviate any concerns. Now, two negatives: firstly, the “private” bathrooms. For whatever reason, the shower has a window facing the internal villa. Meaning that unless you have the curtains drawn, you’ll be presenting your stark naked glory to the rest of your travelling party. Secondly, the mountain to access the place is steep and the driveway has a few tricky turns in it. This makes walking to/from the place quite prohibitive and most taxis won’t attempt to drive you up it. Thankfully, there is a private car available for hire, but you will need a spotter for your first time. Overall, this was a great introduction to Koh Samui and its well worth checking out if you like to prepare your own meals and like being away from the rat race.
