Kluay Mai Bungalow Beach

Kluaymai beach banglows is very nice place. The rooms are lovley and the prices are really good. We paid 1000 BHT per night for a double bed room for 5 nights. Its a beach front banglows. Few steps and you are there. Very clean area on thr beach side and lovley sea water. The only little problem if you will stay here is the club next to the banglows. Twice a week the sound will be very loud, the rest of the days u will be able to fall a sleep at the end. Highly recommended.

Can't complain about anything to do with the bungalow itself- great space, clean, fridge with complimentary water and tea/coffee, big bathroom with hot water and air con.However location is its only drawback....its next to a big club that plays music very loud until late-great if you want to party but not if you want to enjoy the beach, a nice meal and a few drinks. I expected this from Chaweng but not so much at Bang Rak, which is why i chose it.

Kluaymai is amazing value. If you are looking for a party then this place is not for you. If you are looking for a clean, quiet beachfront place to relax on Koh Samui, then I highly recommend it. Kluaymai aren't actually bungalows but rather, are villa style, each with a sliding glass door that faces a garden pathway. The beach is literally no more than 5 steps away (I could hear the waves from my room). There is also a rinse off shower at the beach. Rooms are simple but lovely, brightly lit, clean comfortable bed and a bathroom with a lot of counterspace (a rarity in Southeast Asia!). TV, fridge, a/c, kettle, bottled water. Shower was hot and had good water pressure. Big bonus: the internet connection was fast and wifi signal strong - I was skyping friends from the beach! Best part about this place was the housekeeper, an older woman who kept the place spotless and ensured everything was in order. Kluaymai beach bungalows are on BANGRAK Beach on the north shore of Samui, a km west of the piers and a few km west of the Big Buddha statue. While perhaps the beach is not as lovely as Chaweng, Bangrak is quiet - sometimes I was the only person on the beach. Bangrak is far less developed but still has some good restaurants and bars, 7-11, travel agencies etc. If you want something more lively one night, Chaweng and Bophut's "Fisherman's Village" (posh restaurants and shops) are a short taxi ride away. Note: finding this place was difficult. I'd recommend taking a taxi as they have to get you to your destination (I took a songthaew - they are on a set route and they just drop you off any where). For orientation, this place is about 1 km west of Big Buddha pier, a few blocks from La Sirene restaurant.
