White House Beach Resort

Pleasant enough and good value booked with hotels.com app. Room was definitely old fashioned with typically Thai furnishings, so lots of heavy wood chairs etc. The mattress was quite firm, not an issue for me but some may find it uncomfortable. The TV basically didnt work, again it looked like a TV from another era probably early 1980s. Not a problem tho I didnt go on holiday to watch TV. There are lots of stairs at this hotel, from the street to reception and if you have an upper floor room some very steep stairs to the room door. It was very dark at night and not much lighting to guide you..the internal pathway is full of foliage, statues and uneven surfaces to be aware of. The hotel has direct access to the beach via the pool which was quite pleasant. The beach is beautiful and stretches the whole length of the bay. Given the price paid I would stay here again, choengmon is a nice little town with a few bars and restaurants to go to at night. Beware of the stray dogs wandering around they're docile enough but can quickly become aggressive so approach with caution. Unfortunately they seem to congregate around this hotel either on the beach or on the street outside. All in all I enjoyed my stay here, choengmon is a peaceful little town when compared to Chaweng so if you want a nice relaxing time this could be the right place.

Me and my girlfriend went to White House Beach Resort for 3 nights on our two week round trip in Thailand. This was our fourth and last hotel and we wanted to stay on a calm and nice resort. We arrived quite late, around 19:00 I think and got our room quite fast. We were tired and hungry so we just dumped our bags and went to grab something to eat. When we got back later that night we felt a really bad smell in the room and discovered that there were mold all around the bathroom. The morning after I went to the reception and told them about the mold and smell and that we have to change room. The girl in the reception said that she will send the cleaning service but I told her that you cant clean the mold, you have to tear it down and rebuild because it was so bad. After a long discussion we finally got a new room. I followed a guy from the reception and when we open the door the smell was even worse than our room, and he agreed. After a long time of arguing I didnt felt to spend more time on that and accepted that they would clean the room better to get rid of the smell so we could spend our last days on the beach instead of in the reception. The second night it was raining and when we woke up in the morning the floor in the bathroom was wet and it was a big leak from the roof making the rain water dripping in. I once again went to the reception and they told me they will send the janitor to fix it. We were going around the Island on the motorbike because it was our last day so we went away the whole day and came back late in the afternoon to find out that their way of fixing the leak was to put our trash can under it so the floor didnt get wet. This is a 4 star hotel and I cant find out why because this is the worst hotel I have ever been on in my whole life. In 2019 I spend 20 weeks in hotels around europe and asia with classifications from 2-5 stars and the 2 star hotels was way much better than this. This was a total dissaster and we were so sorry to end up here and get our vacation ruined the last days. The hotel wasnt interested in compensation rather then giving us dinner for maximum 500 baht at the restaurant in the hotel, but to get this we had to sign an agreement to promise not to give the hotel bad rating and not to spread this pictures, I said no. Dont be fooled by the pictures on the Internet because it doesnt look like that.

We booked this hotel through booking.com. Its not our normal choice of hotels but we were going to meet family who were staying here. It was more of a 3 star hotel than a 4 which is what it is advertised at, but we must say, it was really quite perfect for what we were after. We spent most of our 10 days in Thailand just sat in the sea on Choeng Mon Beach which is where this hotel is located and it was ideal! The room was big and clean, the staff were super friendly and the hotel was so cheap! The location is most certainly the best thing about it, right on the glorious cove! This is one we will be visiting again and again! Thank you for having us! Sarah & Mike :)
