Doungkamon Mae Sod Hotel

Calling this place a hotel is very nice words. It is more like just a dilapidated shed with some beds, and where the toilet experience was legitimately exciting every time. The rooms were actually quite large, but everything was simply so worn and broken. The staff was ok.

Worst experience in thailand so far when it comes to honesty, fairness and service. Totally scammed. I was told, the cheapest option with fan (as displayed on the paper that was shown to me) is not available right now (note: the hotel was almost empty). Was therefore forced to take the medium option with AC. AC didn't work and fan was not available - so paid more for getting less. The staff was not willing to talk to me. They were not able to give change, but also not willing to let me change it myself. They wanted to keep the rest until who knows when. The room was dark, smelly, dirty. The manager was "not available". Seriousy, unless you really need to get a ace to sleep, avoid this place. Apart from the location there is nothing good about it.

This hotel is well appointed, clean with large rooms (go for slightly more expensive ones) and large comfortable beds. It has all necessary basic amenities- en suite bathroom, wifi, air con, fridge (and TV if you have time enough to watch TV!). The only thing that lets it down is the bed linen (I brought my own sheets this time!) because they are definitely NOT cotton. Please DK, invest in some new cotton sheets!! Also best to take showers in the afternoon/evening as it relies on the sun to heat the water.. Nice little coffee shop across the parking lot called 'Give and Take' where you can breakfast and if you want a supermarket there is a decent Tesco express round the corner. .. Also has a nice first floor balcony where you can sit and enjoy the morning sun and a small pleasant garden outside..
