Koh Chang Resortel

This was a very different place to stay one of the most enjoyable 3 weeks ever. We were staying next door in a beach cabin and wandered over along the beach to Resorel. The restaurant was open with no one there we walked by the "kids" pool (bigger than most hotel pools) then past an "olympic pool" and finally found a human David the 80 year old owner. Turns out the Olympic teams use it for practise and rent the place all year round for whenever they want it. The rooms are large the views great often we had the pool to ourselves for hrs. to swim float around on or laze and read.The staff are personal David is a wonderful character his wife gracious. The room rate with a buffet breakfast is reasonably priced it is no wonder many of the quests have been coming for 2-3 months every year for up to nine years. Peaceful a rocky beach but good to snorkel and fish many did daily, close to restaurants (theirs is only open for breakfast and all day free tea and coffee or take your own food and relax in the restaurant at the ocean edge) We could write a book about this experience at Resortel for us all good. If your looking for a full service fun resort this is not it no bar, no restaurant, no crowds, no noise , no rules,just peace and quiet,pleasant staff, wonderful owners,clean well appointed rooms in a small community with all the amenities close by and a short tuc tuc ride to the bars and night life, We would love to go back!

One of the best place I ever stayed. The warmth of the place and peace full environment everything was perfect. The owner of the place David is a great host. Very helpful and charming person. The staff is very good. Swimming pool is huge olympic size. The sea is next to the resort. I stayed there for 9 days and price of saty is very fair. I would love to come here again and again Shashi

What in the world is this pace. It’s like the twilight zone meets Scooby Doo. The Olympic size pool is unusable as it looks like a swamp. The other pool is filthy no chairs. There is no bar or restaurant on site- likely the only hotel in Thailand with out a bar or food available. The beach is a collection of trash and rocks and a raft that only Tom Hanks and Wilson could appreciate. We are a group of 10 people and we reserved big beds not single beds. The owner actually told us the rest of the rooms are booked. We are literally the only ones here. Run far away. It’s like a horror comedy show. The view is nice of the ocean and sunset but you can have that anywhere on the west coast of the island. STAY AWAY!!!!
