4-Star Deception: AVOID Like the Plague! Our group of nine booked seven rooms at Saritas Hotel in Alanya and walked into a 2-star nightmare. • The Scams: Staff spent two hours trying to force us into crowded triple rooms despite advance payment—a systemic overbooking tactic. The manager then aggressively demanded we sign "no complaint" waivers to block compensation claims. • The Reality: Expect useless front desk staff, repetitive food, dirty glasses, leaking ceilings, flooded bathrooms, and exposed hallway wiring. • The Only Silver Lining: Good A/C, a beachfront location, and hard-working cleaners. Other guests shared identical horror stories. There are far better options in Alanya that actually deliver. Saritas Otel isn't worth the hassle, AVOID like the plague.

Our group of nine stayed at Saritas Hotel in Alanya, spread across seven rooms between 19/09/2026 and 27/09/2026. The experience was so consistently poor and sub-standard that it’s hard to believe this hotel advertises itself as 4‑star. What we encountered was a mix of unprofessional behaviour, misleading practices, and substandard facilities that ruined what should have been a relaxing holiday. DELAYED ARRIVAL AND NO RESPONSE FROM CUSTOMER SERVICES - After facing a 6hr delay with our outbound flight from Manchester Airport, followed by another unexpected holdup at immigration, we got to the hotel very late through no fault of our own. Yet we kept the Saritas Otel updated via Email, WhatsApp Messages and by compketing the online form on their website, but they didn't respond to any of these enquiries to provide reassurance that our Hotel Booking was active and that there was nothing to worry about. ROOM DOWNGRADING SCAM - Upon arrival, they ushered us to the meals area, showing fake concern about possibly requiring food and drink prior to going over the Particulars of our check-in. However, this turned out to be part of the game they were playing, tryong to 'soften the blow' because despite having fully paid months in advance, the front desk staff tried to force us into triple‑sharing rooms, claiming “availability issues” and "Computer says No." They dismissed our reasons for needing separate rooms even when shown medical evidence. It took two hours of constant arguing before they reluctantly caved in and gave us the rooms we originally booked. They really had availability all along, but they decided to stress us out to see if we would cave in first to push us in to lower quality crowded rooms, so they could exploit other last minute travellers. Shockingly, we witnessed them attempt the exact same downgrade tactic on another group of Europeans the very next day. This is clearly a deliberate, systemic practice, not an honest mistake. AGGRESSIVE AND UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF - A rep claiming to work with our tour operator pressured us to book excursions through him and became confrontational when we declined. Later, the hotel manager demanded that all nine of us handwrite and sign “no complaint” waivers — an obvious attempt to silence guests and block compensation claims. This behaviour is coercive, unethical, and absolutely unacceptable. Front desk staff were equally dismissive. When issues were raised, the response was often “What can I do?” — no reassurance, no effort, no customer service. POOR FACILITIES AND MISLEADING 4★ CLAIM - The hotel’s condition and amenities fall far below any reasonable 4‑star standard: • Only one access card per double room • Ceiling leak and overflowing toilet • No CCTV, allowing guests to mistreat resident cats (witnessed and reported, but staff are not bothered). • No allergen or nutritional labels on any of the buffet food • Very limited food variety, bland meals across breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There were more desserts than main courses, but even those desserts turned out to be the same ones each day, with different coloured icing or macarons added on top to make them look different. • There are plenty of breads sat on one counter, but no butter to be found. • Table Salt provided instead of Sea Salt. • Juices (Apple, Orange, Pineapple and Cherry) seem too concentrated and tart, they need to be diluted with the unlimited tap water from the machine. • Paid extras for WiFi, beach towels, and even luggage weighing • No extractor fans in bathrooms. Instead they had a ventilation grate above the shower that allowed you to hear other guests conversations and bowel movement sounds. With the exclusion of a bathroom window too, just imagine two-sharing being able to take in the pong of each other's bowel movements. • Toilet seats keep self closing and there is no way to keep them open. • Showers result in over flowing on to the rest of the bathroom surfaces, because shower curtains are 2-3 inches too short and the lip of the shower tray itself isn't deep enough to prevent overflows. • Poor lighting in all rooms • Only one medium sized swimming pool, one little rectangle pool for toddlers and one small slide with drop in pool below it. • Only two electrical sockets per room • Security issue - internal room keycard switches can be bypassed by inserting your new style Tesco Clubcards in to them (or any card with a wifi smart chip), instead of keeping your room access card in there and taken out when you leave the room. This way you can keep the aircon on to keep your room cold for when you return. • Outdated and simple decor, nothing like the misleading photos advertising modern decor on tour operator websites. Monumental level of deception. • Sliding windows that don't lock. • Dark hallways with hanging wires and lights permanently off • Loud evening events from 20:30–23:00 where cheap Michael Jackson tributes, fire eaters and belly dancers entertain revellers. • Free alcohol for drinkers and only the usual water, soft drink or coffee for non-drinkers. • Dirty glasses with lipstick marks. • Staff attitude consistently abrupt and unhelpful. Some of them have the personality of a cabbage, not even making eye contact and monotonously repeating the same "Sorry, no understand English" gimmick. Front desk staff were notified in the early hours due to unexpected and sudden torrential rains causing a celing leak on to my CPAP machine and their response was "what am I supposed to do?", no empathy, no assurances, instead we have to inform them what their job and remit entails. Of the limited good points of this hotel, they have: • Excellent air conditioning with multiple settings to toggle between hot and cold air. • Nicely maintained gardens with tropical flowers. • Good location, on the actual promenade and a short 50-100 meter walk to the beach (prepare for fish biting at your ankles when you're swimming). • Conscientious and hard working cleaning and room service staff • Hardworking and Attentive female on call doctor. Both House Keeping & Cleaning Staff as well as the Doctor should opt to secure work in another establishment ASAP because the Saritas' ship is clearly sinking. Better to go to a new employer who would actually value their hardwork and reward them in line with their excellent work ethic and quality service. This hotel is nowhere near 4★ — it barely meets basic 2★ expectations and that is being generous. Additionally, when some of the front desk staff were politely challenged by us about their failure to address specific problems in a timely manner, we were met by responses like "what did you expect when you booked in to a budget hotel?", which further goes to show that the staff themselves think their hotel is mediocre at best. OVERALL VERDICT - Saritas Hotel is not a 4‑star hotel. It is a place where guests are pressured, misled, and treated with disregard. The facilities are outdated, the food is repetitive and enough to keep you satiated & alive, and the staff attitude ranges from dismissive to outright confrontational. The manager’s attempt to coerce handwritten waivers from each of us, so that she can wash her hands of all the complaints, was the final red flag. Her justification was "You asked for the rooms that you wanted and we even gave you them" as though she was doing us a massive favour, not even trying to understand that we asked for what we paid for 7 months ago and we weren't ready to be short changed, just because of their incompetence by overbooking rooms and then asking us to feel sorry for them. We initially secured the booking because it was cheap. However in the past, far cheaper hotels and their staff went out of their way to make our stay feel memorable, but not at the Saritas. Here the staff want to make a quick buck (Euro). They don't care about anything else. They need customer service and person centred training. Yes you'll probably secure a good deal, but after endless problems, disputes, disappointments and headaches, you'll question whether being so cheap was worth it. Other Brits and European guests that we spoke to, shared similar horror stories. There are far better options in Alanya that actually deliver what they advertise. Saritas Otel isnt worth the hassle, AVOID like the plague.

We had a lovely holiday here. Emila, our rep, was incredibly helpful and arranged a couple of excursions for us. The dining room and bar staff work extremely hard, always seem happy, and were unfailingly polite. The food was good, with the menu changing most nights. The outdoor bar had a decent selection too, though not always to my taste. If I had one suggestion, it would be a wider choice at the drinks bar. We mostly stuck to beer and vodka, as they were the best-tasting options. The beach is really nice and the sea was an ideal temperature. I was nervous about the rooms after reading some reviews, but we paid an extra €20 a night for the comfort rooms and it was well worth it. Very clean, air con, and no issues at all. Would happily recommend, especially with the comfort room upgrade.
