Sonas Alpina Hotel Alanya

Anyone who wants to know what a low-level hotel looks like, come here. The food is disgusting. The rooms are old and worn out. The appropriate contingent gathers in this hotel. The beach is unkempt, once I almost stepped on a used syringe. I don't even want to waste time on a detailed review.

The location of the hotel was perfect, just by the sea and it has its own beach. However, the hotel was too crowded with Russian tourists and they make a lot of noise. The service personel was burned out from the all inclusive concept.So most of them was rude. But I do not blame them, they work a lot for little money. Firstly they kept us waiting for half an hour for the check in due to a system error. We also had to wait at the buffet at least for 30 minutes each time. If you do not consume a lot of alchol do not pay over 500 to this hotel, just go to a boutique hotel, you will get better service for a lower price.

I stayed in this hotel with my family in the period July 13-20, 2016. First impression was: way too far from Antalya airport and what would I do in a village? In very short time all my fears and discomfort disapeared. So, I would like to leave here a few thoughts about the position of this hotel and its services. 1. Position: The hotel is situated in Mahmultlar, which is not a village, as I was told on the way, but it`s a nice and very clean town, with dozens of different shops. The hotel is situated on the main road, whic links Alanya with Mahmutlar and it`s right at the corner of the main avenue. The underground tunel links you with the sea. In less than 3 minutes you are on a sandy beach, where opens a great panorama of the mountains & the sea. For our family it was more than confortable to go to the seaside and in the hot afternoons, when children were sleeping, to go shopping. The main bazar is 2, 5-3 km away, but on the way you just meet a lot of different shops with prices starting from 5 TL - so abosltely fantastic choice from this point of view. Services: We had a suite room, as we were 5 persons, very clean and cosy. We had daily clean and change of the laundry and towels.The personnel is very friendly and offered all the info we needed. Food: The restaurant has 2 main spaces: 1 big inside and another one outside. Each day in the menu there were plenty of fresh vegetables + fruits: watermelon, apples and grapefruit and orange. Main dishes are from beans and family related houmus, lentil etc. But there is also a wide range of european dishes made from bruxelles cabbage, chicken meat, spinach, eggs, yougurt etc. There is also a big choice of deserts. In one word - no way to remain hungry. Between the main meals, there is an outside bar which offer drinks the whole day and a lady who cooks in front of you Turkish traditional chees pies (placinte) from lavash. In this period the hotel was not full, we had plenty of space at the outside pool and even more on the beach. There are chaise longues everywhere, but you have to take your own towels (not from the hotel). My main impressions are linked with the Mediteranean sea which is absolutely fantastic. I can talk a lot about it, but it`s better to go there and feel it. I do not recomend to stay at the sun, as the sun in this period is literally burning and I still have discomfort from it. For me, for my family who traveled for the 1st time to Turkey, it was a dream vacation. Of course, there were a lot of people around us who were unhappy with the conditions from the hotel, with the food, but I have the impression that these people are generaly unsatisfied with everything. We tried to see the full part of the cup and we managed to enjoy every single moment spent on the beach, surounded by mountains and bananas plantations, we catched almost all the sunsets, we made our best to feel happy. Despite the situation from Turkey, Mahmutlar and Sonas Alpina was a very peaceful and great place to spend our vacation. I would go there again and I recomend it for all who want to see beyond and more than the hotel stars. I recommend it for people who are looking for relaxation, for good chats, for silence and peace.
