Silence Beach Resort

This was our 6th stay at this hotel (2 times under the Silence brand and 4 times as Selectum). Sadly, we have decided that this will be our last visit. When the hotel first became Selectum, the service quality was excellent. However, over the past three years, we have unfortunately seen the overall experience decline with each visit. Despite this, we kept returning because we genuinely liked the hotel and had many wonderful family memories here. This year, however, the final disappointment was the new policy requiring children and adults to use separate water parks. For many years, families were able to enjoy the children’s water park together, creating unforgettable moments with their kids. Now, children are required to use the children’s area while parents must stay in the adult water park. For a family resort, preventing parents from enjoying the water park with their own children simply doesn’t make sense. One of the greatest joys of a family vacation is sharing these experiences together. What makes this even more disappointing is that this policy was never communicated during the booking process. Had we known about this change in advance, we would have chosen a different hotel for our vacation. I am writing this review not only to inform other families but also in the hope that the hotel management will reconsider this decision. It is genuinely disappointing to stop visiting a hotel we have enjoyed for so many years because of a policy that takes away an important part of the family holiday experience. I sincerely hope the management listens to the feedback of its loyal guests and restores the opportunity for parents and children to enjoy the water park together.

I was so pleased with my first visit that I came back a second time in July, but it was very crowded during the season. We didn't go to the main restaurant for lunch; we used the lakeside restaurant, but even there, the last or last two tables were always empty each time we went. The pools are the same; after 9 am it's impossible to find a sun lounger by the main pool, I've seen so many people come to reception complaining. Two people were fighting over a sun lounger right next to my baby and daughter, and I was disturbed by it. We stayed on the second floor of the lakeside villa. They said they'd get private sunbeds for us, but it was all a lie; my family and I spent our holiday in a constant race to grab a sunbed. I won't even mention the tiny room they gave us when we checked in; I have to give them credit, they changed it after much pleading. I must say that the quality of the food has decreased compared to last year. The döner kebab was very bad for me, and the Adana kebab had bones and sinews in it. The red meat was very tough and I couldn't eat it. However, there are ready-made hamburger patties that can be eaten to some extent at every meal. They've even removed sausages from the breakfast menu, but they serve hotdogs at lunchtime. I think they've compromised on food quality and lowered prices, based on my first visit in 10 months. The à la carte restaurant was good, but it's frustrating; if they can make this appetizer so delicious, why aren't the ones in the main restaurant like this? We couldn't get many things we wanted by simply requesting them once; you sit down to eat, order a drink from the waiter, they say "okay" and leave, but the drink never arrives. They don't say no, they're polite, but they just say okay and leave, leaving you to wait 10 minutes for your drink and ask another waiter for it, or to get it yourself. Sand was poured onto the balcony for cleaning, so I called the cleaner while he was working in the next room – I even called him by his name, as we had been talking before. "Okay, I'll be there in 10 minutes," he said, and he didn't come. We had to call reception. I can't blame the staff, as I said, that's how it is in this crowd. Overall, I can't complain because the staff are friendly and welcoming; after all, they're not the ones controlling the capacity. I didn't expect an organization to lower its quality this much in less than a year. The problem wasn't just the crowds. I recommend choosing this hotel during the off-season.
