Lake & Riverside Hotel & Spa

The hotel has pluses and minuses. The staff is OK. Cleaners do their job well and in general we are satisfied with the holiday here. But the biggest disappointment was guest relation service. the fact is that I and my friend had birthdays during our stay.My husband appealed to guest relation girl and she assured him they would do their best to give a small compliment to the birthday girls and they have all the information on the system. On the day of occasion he reminded the girl of the event. However, no gestures of any attention were provided... The other problem is reserving the place at the pool. Just at 8.00 there are dozens of towels on the poolside beds, but people don't come sometimes till afternoon and the others have no place to put the things for a short swim

I’m am writing this review while still here at the hotel. I have been to Turkey many times and decided to try and different area and honestly wish I hadn’t. Firstly we arrived at in the early hours of the morning and after checking in finally got to bed about 3am. We were then woken at 8 am by ‘our holiday rep’ who wanted to meet to tell us about our collection time at the ends of the holiday however wanted to sell us trips. The hotel has a buffet restaurant but also boasts that it has 3 al carte restaurants when booking (Mexican, Italian and Ottoman) you are supposed to be able to book all three in a weeks holiday etc. This however is not the case they only have Ottoman and a fish restaurant whereby you can only book on the day between 8:30am - 10am and can seat a maximum of 60 people this alternates day by day which is available and is not available on Saturdays. The buffet restaurant is fine, however if you’re going for a 7pm dinner (opening time) be prepared to fight for a table as you are not seated like many other 5 stars. Also be prepared to just grab whatever you can as the people do not know how to queue! If you decide to go later like we did the atmosphere is calmer but food is not as readily replenished. Some hotel staff were great however the majority were very rude. Some spoke little to no English which isn’t a massive issue but trying to explain you hadn’t finished were still eating and drinking what you had in front of you was difficult for example at breakfast on of the service staff came over to clear some of our empty plates we had piled to one side (no issues with that) but then proceeds to clear the plate in front of my cousin that he was still eating off and started cleaning the table flicking crumbs all over us (not acceptable at any star hotel). Cleanliness was ok as they were constantly cleaning but not always effectively. Glasses from room were not removed. Cleaning around you while you were sat at breakfast/lunch/dinner just wasn’t great. Some of the animation team are obnoxious and the activities are the same every day. Water polo is an absolute nightmare as there is no space round the to move your lounger out the way of the goals so if you’re sat near be prepared to be hit by the ball. On the subject of the pool for the size of the hotel it is tiny. Oh at get up early if you want a lounger as people start reserving them the night before. If you value animal welfare be aware they have a parrot that they parade around the pool to get tourists to have photos with however the parrot’s wings have been clipped so it cannot fly away and you know it doesn’t want to be there. The beach and sister hotel beach bar were one of the saving graces. Calm and peaceful. They could just do with upgrading the beach shuttle as some of the seats were broken so you had to perch carefully. The rooms are ok nothing to make you go ‘wow’ or ‘this is nice’. We had a family room with 4 people staying in it however while we had four beds it was only set up for 2 people - 2 towels in the bathroom, 2 of all drinks in the minibar, 2 pairs of slippers etc. The shower is like an ice rink as no subtle grippy tiles and don’t expect a constant temperature throughout your shower. As far as the location is concerned you are surrounded by greenery and lake and river which is nice but the road outside the hotel is noisy at night and when sat on our balcony we can hear the music coming from the hotels across the lake. I wouldn’t say this hotel is value for money you would be better off paying a little extra and going elsewhere as the hotel is probably just about a 3 star even as Turkish standards go.
