Oleander

The small hotel the way I like and cosy, the delicious food and drinks and drinks as well. The room is clean and apparently new.

This is the fourth time we have stayed at the Oleander Hotel – and that alone shows that we feel very comfortable here. Positively noteworthy: The greatest strength of the hotel is clearly the staff. The hospitality, attention and cordiality – especially among the long-term employees – is truly extraordinary. You feel welcome, seen and well looked after. That is exactly the main reason why we keep coming back. We very much hope that the younger staff will see this attitude and this treatment of the guests in the long term. Also the outdoor areas and the garden are really well maintained and beautifully designed. Here you can see that work is done regularly and that importance is placed on a neat appearance. This greatly contributes to the feel-good factor. Another personal highlight for us is the small coffee bar on the way to the sea. Especially for early risers this is ideal: You can grab a coffee in the morning in peace and relax by the sea while the rest of the family is still sleeping. For me personally, this is a special moment every morning and contributes a lot to recovery. Rooms & accommodation: We had booked as always a superior room, which worked very well in the past even with three people, as everyone had a real bed. This time, however, we got an upgrade to a suite, which unfortunately turned out to be a disadvantage. The suite overall looks old and clearly worn. For the third person, there is only one couch that does not have a proper mattress nor is it long enough. With about 1.80 m of lying space, this is simply inconvenient for taller people. There are also some shortcomings: In the shower, the water does not drain properly, so you quickly stand in the water. The toilet cracks clearly when sitting down, which does not give a good feeling. The furniture has also become visibly old. Condition of the plant & surroundings: Unfortunately, in many places you notice that investment is too little or very slow. In Haus Flora, the balconies on the ground floor are closed because the flooring is rotten and needs to be renewed. In addition, the room doors were renewed there, but apparently without taking care that they can be closed quietly. As a result, the doors often slam shut loudly – especially in the evening hours and during the night’s sleep, this is clearly annoying. The indoor pool lacks tiles in the pool, and the wall behind it turns increasingly green, which seems unkempt, although you could probably get to grips with it with regular cleaning. Due to the high humidity and apparently lack of ventilation, even the roof structure rusts. In general, there seems to be a moisture problem in the basement and wellness area, which is clearly noticeable. Also on the beach you can see the ravages of time: The frame for the sun sails is heavily rusted and looks as if it is only held together by paint and rust. There is an urgent need for renewal here. Another point that stands out: There are many cats on the loose throughout the grounds, some of them indoors. For some guests this may be charming, but for allergy sufferers this can quickly become a problem and significantly affect the stay. In this context, we have noticed in Haus Flora in the bistro area currently a very unpleasant smell, which smells strongly of cat urine and significantly impairs the stay there. In addition, it is noticeable that some guests unfortunately misunderstand the all-inclusive offer and leave their garbage on the beach instead of disposing of it. This causes crows to scurry over it and spread the garbage further, which significantly worsens the overall picture. Since the weather is currently improving significantly and the sun already has a lot of power, shade places – especially at the sea – are still limited. In this context, unfortunately, the well-known problem of reserving a lounger is also visible. Some guests reserve early sunbeds under the sun sails for longer periods without using them. As a result, it is often difficult to find two loungers next to each other in the afternoon. We find that unnecessary and not very considerate. Conclusion: The hotel continues to impress with its outstanding staff, familiar atmosphere and well-kept outdoor facilities, as well as such loving details as the morning coffee bar. At the same time, however, it is not to be overlooked that the plant has become old in many places. It would be really important to invest more heavily here again to maintain the former standard and splendour of the hotel and to remain competitive in the future. Finally, we would like to emphasize that these are our personal experiences and impressions, which may of course differ from the perceptions of other guests

We took a family holiday at Hotel Oleander, we would describe it as an average holiday. The facility itself is very clean and the staff is very behind, especially when it comes to the toilets. We have travelled with a toddler and have a family room, it must be said our daughter has slept on a sofa bed. Especially for children is rather less offered, children's pool is simply a pool of 40cm is nothing more. The food was very good and there was something for everyone. Important: In the hotel the waiters were sometimes very intrusive towards our daughter.
