Rooms clean but in a really bad state, worse, than the worst council house you can imagine. Settee collapsed when we sat on it, and we could see where it had been repaired before us. If you are all inclusive, there is none of the choice of food we were led to believe there would be - very basic. They werent too keen to provide something else if you didnt like what was on offer, food was pretty basic for the all inclusives. For 8 days we were served meatballs for dinner. You do much better if you are paying for food. There is a camera pointed at the bar to see how much drinks the staff gave us. Most flights home are really late at night, but you have to be out of the room by 12 noon, so all food and drink from then till you leave must be paid for. You can pay extra to stay in a room till 5pm and pay for your supper or pay more again to stay in a room till 10pm and be all inclusive till then. The saving grace to me was the staff, who befriended my son, who was on his first holiday for 9 years. When it was his 28th birthday, they made a fuss of him all day and in the evening decorated a table with flowers and presented him with a cake. I was so impressed, I could have cried. The staff were really impressed with my son when on day 10 he decided to learn some basic Turkish, and did really well in such a short time, I couldnt even remember how to say thank you in Turkish. On our last night, they asked my son to dance a traditional Turkish dance with them, they then all came out to say goodbye to him. I hadnt seen them do this for anyone else while we were there. This all really made my son really big headed. I hope the boss realizes what really nice boys he employs. If you want somewhere that gives entertainment in the evenings, This is not the place for you as there is absolutely none. If you just want to relax and read and swim, this is the place for you.

Just stayed at these apartments from 4th to 12th July. Apartments are very good. However the block is not all, all-inclusive. There are many paying guest which makes it very difficult at meal times and when requiring drinks. The staff obviously pay better attention to paying guests than to all inclusive guests. The staff can also be very surly and rude, especially if they ask your daughter out every night and she refuses. We reported this to the rep who informed the manager but instead of an apology my daughter was challenged at the bar by the actual people we had complained about, incredible. You can only imagine my actions as a father.
If you want to go there just go for the room only, far better restaurants along the front and in the town.
The food for all inclusive was very repetative, never saw any typical Turkish cooking all week and don't think they knew what fish was!

Just arrived home from a great holiday in Side - Safran is a very good place to stay for families with kids. Big apartments with 2 bedrooms and 3 balconnys. Very nice poolarea and a great and cheap restaurant. Only 10 minutes walk to the beach and citycenter, and a lot of stores and ruins to look at on the way. If you dont want to walk, there's plenty of taxis and it only costs 10 lira for a ride.
The staff was great and made our holiday so much fun- the kids just loved the waiters. Can only recommand Safran Hotel for a cheap and very pleasant stay in Side.
