Adapalas Hotel

I stayed there for 2 nights. Staff was friendly, kind and helpful. Room was clean. Breakfast was okay(limited options). Location is good(close to Muradiye Kulliyesi, Tarihi Cinar), public transportation passes by the hotel. If I go Bursa again I will stay in there.

Stuck in Bursa during a snow storm, I stayed at this hotel with my father who had just been discharged from hospital after a bypass operation. The owners of the hotel, who are actively involved in running the business, are extremely friendly and accommodating. The staff is old-style, nice and polite, experienced. They kindly did their best to fulfill our needs specific to that moment: for instance increased hygiene to avoid possible infections after the operation. They turned such an unpleasant moment -- being stuck in a city where we had no home, and with a 74 years old man who had been operated only recently-- into a warm atmosphere for us. The rooms are clean and decently decorated. The corner rooms, called suits, I believe, are more spacious than the others and have a lot of light. The story of the hotel and the building is an interesting one. It started as a hotel by the same family in 1934 in a 1900-built wooden house, which was burned down in a fire in the 1950s. The family had an architect design a hotel in the same location, which was completed in 1955: fine modernist architecture. The hotel is located right next to the Hüdavendigar Mosque, the first Ottoman mosque built with the name of a sultan (from the early years of the Ottoman Empire, 1300s). The Cekirge neighborhood is full of hammams, etc. that make it charming. There is a hammam on each floor of Hotel Adapalas, which can be used by those staying on that floor in the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel to those who like to be in a friendly atmosphere. In this hotel, you get good kind service instead of fake luxury.

They have a nice hamam (family bath type) on each floor, 1,2,3. The guests can use it whenever they want. There was a wifi in the room. You get a nice view from the hotel on the Cekirge hill onto the lower Bursa towns. Even if they do not speak much English (I am not sure because I tried to practice my little Turkish. Anyway, the son of the owner surely spoke fluent English), myself did not have any difficulty in the communication because they are so experienced and attentive to the guests. (if you need special support perhaps you can prepare a translation tool just in case). I found sophisticated attending service with warmth, by experienced hotel employees. This is located in Cekirge. I chose the location for the hot springs. In the route between the center (Ataturk Cad.) and Cekirge, taxis, dolmises, city buses (getting a prepaid card BuKart in advance would be convenient) are all abundant. For some people, one caution is that they do not have an elevator.
