WOW Istanbul Hotel

I’ve attended Istanbul to receive some dental treatment .. I’m not referring to the dental company I went with by the way their service was and is 10/10 … although I assume they have agreements or contracts with certain hotels in place for people travelling from outside turkey like myself for package deals .. wow hotel disappointment me .. I had major surgery on my mouth but security guards are expecting me to speak and state my name and room despite showing them I have a room key .. constantly stopping me asking for my name to enter certain areas .. this is unacceptable on every level. Upon returning today from the surgery and let me just say I had 15 extractions bone grafting titanium plates fitted and 12 implants fitted across both arches of my mouth .. the security guard would not allow me to swiftly return to my room .. he wanted proof of names room numbers and was abit rude like he was under the impression I wasn’t supposed to be there .. ive not spent 15k to be treated like this by hotel staff so unfortunately I’m not happy with the service of the hotel .. other than that I would suggest the menu having more substantial and suitable things for people to eat post dental surgery ..

It is a 5* only because of the sign, everything else leaves a lot to be desired The soundproofing of the rooms is terrible, you can hear the subway that passes next to the hotel, as well as the hallway and the guests from other rooms The room is spacious and the TV too, but it is very old The bed and pillows are comfortable They have a bathrobe, slippers, and water in the room Very few outlets in the room and the controls to manage the lighting are old and complex If you go to the fair, as was our case, it is very convenient since it is 5 minutes walking and 45 by car to the airport The breakfast, which costs €15, is very basic with products of very fair quality, but there is nothing nearby for breakfast

5-star hotel? BAH. A hotel that presents itself as a 5-star should offer a completely different level of service and attention to detail. Here, instead, I found completely unusable Wi-Fi, dirty rooms, and a dilapidated en-suite bathroom, far from the standards one would expect from a property of this category. I called the front desk to ask for the Wi-Fi password and the guy took about 5 minutes pretending not to understand the word “PASSWORD”. In the end he managed to enter the network, only to then discover that the Wi-Fi did not work in any way. The bathroom also leaves much to be desired: the so-called courtesy kit is reduced exclusively to shampoo and lotion, while toothbrushes, toothpaste, cotton swabs, and other courtesy products that I would expect to find in a true 5-star hotel are completely missing. Overall, the experience was decidedly below expectations and I did not encounter the standards that I would associate with a 5-star property. As far as I am concerned, this property is closer to a 3-star than a 5-star.
