1-star review Hotel Nanda completely lost my respect, and I would never recommend this hotel to another traveler again. What makes this so ugly is that I actually used to speak highly of this place. I stayed here for two months in the past and had such a positive experience that I confidently recommended it to my family for their trip to Istanbul from July 12 to July 22. Before telling them to book, I called the hotel and confirmed the rate. I was told $100 per night and was told that was the discounted price. Based on that, I told my sister to go ahead and call and book the room for my parents and nephew. Then the second my sister called from the United States to actually make the booking, the price suddenly became $160 per night. That is not a small mix-up. That is not confusion. That is exactly the kind of shady, inconsistent pricing that makes travelers feel targeted and played with. And let me make this crystal clear: the money was never the problem. If Hotel Nanda had said $160 per night from the very beginning, I would have paid it. No issue. I can respect a higher price. What I do not respect is dishonesty, wasted time, and being made to look foolish in front of my own family after I personally vouched for this hotel. That is what makes this so offensive. Not the number itself. The principle. You do not tell one person $100, then tell their U.S.-based family member $160 when it is time to actually book, and then expect people to trust you. Whether intentional or not, that gives the impression that pricing changes depending on who is calling and where they are calling from. That feels exploitative, disrespectful, and deeply unprofessional. I have traveled extensively and rarely experienced anything that left this kind of impression. That is exactly what ruins trust. A city can be beautiful, safe, peaceful, historic, and full of charm, but the second businesses start playing games with pricing and making foreigners feel like walking wallets, all of that gets overshadowed very quickly. That is what people need to understand. Travelers do not just remember the view or the hotel bed. They remember how they were treated. They remember whether they were respected. And nothing destroys goodwill faster than feeling like you are being quoted one price privately and a different price the second your location changes. Hotel Nanda did not just lose one booking. They lost my family’s booking, my future business, and every recommendation I ever would have given them again. I used to defend this hotel. After this, absolutely not. If you are a foreign traveler, get every single quote in writing before making plans around anything this hotel tells you on the phone. Based on my experience, their word clearly meant nothing once it was time to actually pay. I hope this review helps other travelers avoid the same experience.

I stayed at the hotel for 8 days. The staff is friendly, attentive and professional. Cleaning was done every day, an iron is available. Breakfast is plentiful and there is something for everyone. The terrace allows you to relax after the bustle of the day. The rooms are ideal since we visit during the day, the bedding is good. The neighborhood is safe and nice. We are near Tram 1, 4 stops from Sultanahmet (mosque, blue...), and the line goes to the European shore and the piers. We were walking back to the hotel, ideal location.
