The hotel doesn't cost the $55 a night I paid for a double room. During the five days of residence, they never changed the bed linen, only changed the towels, because they have nowhere to dry. The transfer that the receptionist ordered for me cost 500 lire more than if I had ordered it myself on a mobile app. Stay vigilant!

Don’t believe positive reviews - the hotel rooms have black mold, heavy old mud on floor and furniture, frowst in the rooms. Breakfast is the cereals, cheap cheese, ham and hard boiled eggs, no fruits or veggies. No spoons, no plates, no servant or any crew in the dining area (can’t name it restaurant). The hotel manager locks the hotel room and leaves for his personal business during the day and night and doesn’t take his phone, so you won’t be able to get into the hotel and will wait outside till the manager is done with his business. The hotel will not even try to atone for the mess - take it into account. There’s lots of hotels every 20 meters around the place. Don’t pick Sembol unless there’s no available hotel in Istanbul at all.

When traviling in countries where most people dont speak any english.. The simplest things can become difficult my stay in istanbul where no different .. The hotel manager (Salih Vatansever) on Hotel Sembol where very helpful and made my trip very pleasant, besides the professionel and efficient service at the hotel staff where friendly and pleasant.. Thats why i gave the hotel 5 stars.
