Sultan's Eye Comfort

This place beat out a motel in Abq. New Mexico with a sink that didn't work and water that flooded the bathroom floor from under the tub when you stepped into it for the title of "Worst Hotel I've Been To". Originally found this place in Rick Steve's Istanbul book, so even though the rooms were tiny from what I saw online, I went into it thinking "how bad could it be" and booked 4 nights. I got there late the first night (around 11:30pm) and went to my room, that had filthy carpet and was not provisioned with any towels. I had to take towels from the empty room next door. To say this room was tiny was an understatement, it was basically a dirty closet... and the "bathroom" is something you take one step into and close the shower door behind you, and shower in the middle of the even smaller closet with the sink and toilet. The best part is that there was no hot water, and the drain didn't work, so the carpet next to the bed got wet. Also, it was claimed that the breakfast was served on a terrace with sea views, but it was in a dirty basement. The next morning I found another hotel near by paying nearly triple, but it was worth it to me because I couldn't imagine staying there 3 more nights. It would have ruined my entire trip. So I turned my key into the desk manager the next day and told him I was leaving and why, he offered me a larger room, but it would have been more of the same and I told him I was just leaving and I would like a refund of my unused nights. He said he would do this, but gave me no paperwork and they never credited my money back to me. It was still worth it just to get out of this place though.

We were totally disappointed. It was advertised as a 'deal' £106 reduced to £46. When we complained about the room we were offered a 'better' one for an additional 20E. Nothing in the advert existed. No terrace, patio, garden, minibar, the list is endless; bad service, bad linen, bad plumbing, bad wiring. Staff lie and cheat. Go there at your peril.

This hotel is in very poor state and sit at the bottom of a very steep hill which had to be climbed every day when going out. My friend and I had 4 nights at this hotel. The room was ok, the bed very comfortable & clean but the room was extremely small & the shower was falling off the wall. Every time one of us had a shower it would the bathroom turned into a swimming pool. Breakfast not that great and not much on offer. The hotel staff were very friendly and were always happy to help. The only good thing about this hotel was it's location. Advise is stay some where else.
