Mercure Istanbul Taksim

We stayed 5 nights at Artisan Hotel. The hotel is located within walking distance to Taksim Square and the Beşiktaş area and the surrounding area is not as busy with traffic as other parts of Istanbul. We booked a corner room which was larger and had a bathtub. Bed was comfortable and we were able to control the air temperature in the room. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and you can also get a chance to meet their two resident dogs Lady and Sophia. They are quite large dogs but don’t worry they don’t bite. We had breakfast at the rooftop and the view of the Bosphorus in the morning was magnificent. Great way to start the day. The food was good with a good buffet spread. There are several restaurants and supermarkets nearby which is convenient. If you are walking towards Taksim Square the incline is not too bad but if you are heading coming back up from the Kabatas ferry terminal/tram station/Dolmabache Palace then the climb up can be quite steep. However if you do not want to climb you can always hop on to a bus as the bus stop is located in front of the hotel. Overall we had a wonderful and memorable stay at Istanbul and if we were to come back then we would definitely consider staying here.

We stayed second time here and was surprisingly recognised once stepped in to hotel with warm welcoming from Aziz at the reception who made the best check in experience I have ever had. Very elegant and hospitable gentleman and I wish entire world of hotels will have similar one! The hotel itself has a magic ambiance with stylish lobby and specious rooms. In general service is extremely fast whatever you request from dental kit to iron board everything will arrive in few minutes. Very friendly staff who’s really willing to assist with anything you ask for. Location is great bonus close to Taksim in one hand and to Kabatas in another side. Will definitely recommend and will be back soon.

In general Very nice hotel on the upper 4-star Scala with very friendly staff. Location & surroundings The hotel is less than a ten-minute walk from Taksim Square. Room We had a superior room. The flexible rate for two people incl. Breakfast was around EUR 105,- per night. By redeeming Accor points, it was ultimately only EUR 85.-. The room and bathroom are spacious and tastefully decorated. Facilities include a Nespresso machine, minibar, kettle, 4 small free bottles of water, bathrobes and slippers. Everything looks high quality and is very well maintained and clean. Service All staff were very friendly and accommodating. Be it at check-in or at breakfast. Gastronomy There is a restaurant and bar adjacent to the lobby for lunch and dinner. On the top floor there is breakfast and in the evening the fine dining restaurant Topaz with a magnificent view of the Bosphorus. The Turkish breakfast buffet was extensive and good quality. Hot egg dishes could be ordered. Conclusion: A great hotel that exceeded our expectations with an excellent value for money. An absolute recommendation!
