Golden Horn Sultanahmet Hotel

The hotel is close to the old quarter. The décor is lovely and the lift works well. The room was a bit small with a tiny wardrobe and 3 coat hangers. There was no room to store clothing as the drawers were tiny so clothing had to be kept in the suitcase. Good restaurant on the top floor with views over the mosques.

We concur with prior positive reviews as of this writing, April 2026. We add: The location is ideal for exploring Istanbul by foot or tram; the tram stop is a short walk way as are major attractions in Sultanahmet. The location/rooms are quiet, and views are spectacular. Breakfast/staff were great. The price point is competitive. The hotel is Rick Steves-endorsed; do read the review/advice in his book before booking. Like for most hotels in Istanbul, car/van transportation can be challenging due to traffic; if you choose this mode of transport, leave yourself plenty of extra time.

The hotel deco is dated but it's a fantastic location to see everything right on the door step . Towels changed daily rooms spotless clean bit dark but good sleep bed comfy and pillows . Breakfast hot /cold guys couldn't do enough for me . Had trouble with safe as soon as I arrived was sorted straight away . I would deffo stay here again .also guys on reception very helpfully not forgetting the view frm restaurant breathtaking 🥰
