Gradiva Hotel

The only positive thing about this hotel is its location right next to the Galata Tower. That being said, its facilities differ significantly from the elegant pictures shown on their website. The hotel’s first floor is a storage area filled with tables and chairs through which you have to cross to access the building’s elevator. We had reserved two rooms with two beds each, and only one of the rooms given to us met those requirements as the other one had only a single bed. The hotel advertises having air conditioning service in their rooms, but this service was unavailable to us during our stay and keeping the windows open at night made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep with all the noise coming from adjacent streets and establishments. Additionally, customer service for tourists is awful. On the last day of our stay, I realized after checking out of the hotel that I left behind some prescription eye glasses in our room and, even though I returned to the hotel immediately to retrieve them, I was told they were allegedly unable to open the room to recover them. Since we were headed to a different city, I tried to stay in communication with the hotel over the next few days to discuss the possibility of having them send me the glasses at my own expense. Two days later, I was still being told they had not yet accessed the room. After four days of consistently contacting them, they finally informed me that they had the glasses at the front desk and agreed to coordinate a driver to meet me with the glasses at the airport in Istanbul upon our return, again at my own expense. However, this ultimately did not occur, as no transportation was ever established and they failed to answer all of my phone calls to their various contact numbers.

Worst Service ever, no towels, rooms catastrophe, Room extremely noisy. Hardly possible to sleep. Reception/Service: we did not found a single towel!!!!! Breakfast: pre-made plates with plastic wrap on them. Never ever again. Rooms dirty.

Really small rooms but this will not be a problem. Perfect location and very close to all critical public transport stations/stops. Front facade rooms have Haliç Gulf view which you can also see Ayasofya and Eminönü and part of the Galata Bridge. A few minutes walk to Galata Tower. If TV is important to you, you may find just a few channels with low quality. Very good bands playing in the Social Jazz Bar at hotels ground floor.
