This is my go to hotel and I have stayed at Hotel Niles three times. It is quiet, low key, friendly, clean easily accessible a perfect location with roof time views for breakfast or any time.

I was at this hotel with my mom. It was our first time in Istanbul and the best experience is thanks to the hotel. Firstly, there were problems booking with my card and the hotel manager was very patient and helped me (in a chain hotel this would not be possible, but it is a family hotel, so the approach was individual). Next, the hotel itself is a super position. The main attractions (Sofia, museums) can be reached on foot, but the tram stop is even closer. We took the tram to the monastery of Hora (highly recommended), then we took the tram back in the evening from a walk on Iskilal - very convenient. And finally, the hotel atmosphere. As I said, the hotel is family owned – and it feels like everything. The interior preserves the history of decades without feeling old and stale. And the breakfast terrace is just love. Also be sure to try local vegetarian (!) dishes prepared by the daughter-in-law (?) of the hotel owner. It's delicious! I'm attaching a picture from the terrace.

What an absolute jewel of a hotel! A small family run establishment right in the heart of the old town and within easy walking distance of so many of the sights and with a wide choice of restaurants right on the doorstep.
The customer service was excellent - helpful, friendly, genuinely interested in the comfort of guests and kind. Little touches like apple tea and turkish delight immediately on arrival, tea/coffee making facilities and a complimentary bottle of water in my room were all an unexpected, and appreciated, bonus.
Breakfast is not to be missed - a very wide range of choices on the buffet. I enjoyed a leisurely breakfast as well as an evening nightcap up on the roof terrace which had views across rooftops and also of the sea just a couple of blocks away.
I was travelling in Istanbul for the first time and on my own to meet up with friends also staying in the hotel and it was reassuring to landing Istanbul knowing that the hotel had all of my transport to the hotel arranged which was easy to find (thanks to the clear instructions sent to me by the hotel), comfortable, a set price and efficient. The hotel also arranged our transport to the cruise port at the end of our stay. Everything I would normally get a little bit anxious about on a trip were taken care of efficiently by the hotel, making it so easy for me to relax and enjoy the first part of my holiday.
I would definitely stay in the Niles Hotel again without giving it a second thought and recommend it wholeheartedly.
