Ottoman Tulip Hotel

I stayed 3 nights at the hotel.The room had the required housekeeping and air conditioning.A good place for the price.The location is within a 3-minute walk of the bus and train station

You get what you pay for. Yes, I would recommend it. It is not fancy, luxurious or event top location, but it does offer a very good compromise and yes at the end of the day it works just fine. We were out most of the day sightseeing and exploring the incredible Istanbul and were even out of Istanbul a few days. Do be prepared for the stairs since there is no elevator. Staff is most helpful and do care about you and assist you taking your luggage to your room.

I booked this Hotel via a deal in an AVIOS-BA sale so expected a great deal more of this Hotel as it is "recommended" on their web-page. The Good parts are the Location & the Staff - its located in the old city down a very steep cobbled street away from the Tramline but Murat was an extremely polite/helpful lad from Turkmenistan who spoke/understood English very well. The Bad part is as above the location - at the time I booked my trip I didn't notice that there is NO lift & as per previous reviews I also had to stay my 1st night at another Hotel, which was even worse than here. As I now walk with a stick & find it awkward climbing stairs I had sent an e-mail, un-answered, requesting a ground floor room, as soon as it became known of the situation re the lift & to my shock I found that my room for the 2nd night was on the top floor - 3 flights of stairs. Luckily they gave me a ground floor room for nights 3 & 4. The Ugly - this Hotel is NOT the same one shown in the Photo on the web-sites. The rooms are OK though but yes are a tad small & with low ceilings. I thought the B/fast was terrible - the plates of meat/cheese were left uncovered, the fruit juice & coffee machines did not produce the quality of product that I found palatable & only the bedrooms have A/C. All in all I recommend that you avoid this place. It is only a 20min walk to the Historic centre though.
