Akgun Hotel

Booked at Akgun but on arrival we were sent to another hotel because of "an issue" that was not thoroughly explained. From what i could gather, they seemed to have overbooked themselves and then we ended up bearing the inconvenience of their own mistakes. What a disappointing first impression. Also quite an inconvenience having to move from one point to another with big luggage bags. We eventually went back to Akgun as originally booked and honestly? The hotel is outdated. Bed was horrible to sleep on and mattress was really hard and whenever you try to turn or make any movement, the bed would make funny sounds to indeed confirm that its really old. I woke up with a sore and tired body For a 5 star hotel, the service and facilities were not giving! The only thing i really appreciated was that the location of the hotel is close to the tram station and that the security at the the door were always helpful with directions.

Excellent location and comfort, service quality is very good.

الخدمة سيئة ، التعامل سيء ، لا يستحق ولا نجمة و اعتقد ان الخمس نجوم كانت قديمًا جدا و فشل مع الوقت و لهذا يقوم بتخفيضات قوية و جميع موظفين الفندق يائسين باردين غير مبالين للشكاوى جلسنا هنا خمسة ايام كلها سيئة لكننا اجبرنا على البقاء بسبب ظروف شخصية لقرب المكان و لن نكرر التجربة ابدا و لا انصح بها ابدا وصلنا في الساعة 1pm و كنا حاجزين الغرف مسبقاً إلكترونيا و مع ذلك تأخر تسليم الغرف كثيرا ! استلمنا الغرف بعد الساعة 4pm و كان الانتظار مملا و متعبا خاصة لو كنت قادم من رحلة طويلة اصلا و تريد ان ترتاح و تنام.. التنظيف سطحي فقط لا ينظفون تحت السرير و لا يستبدلون الملاءات و لا يوجد نعال للحمام و لا فرش اسنان و لا معجون اسنان و لا سجادة صلاة و عندما تطلب منهم ذلك يخبرونك ان سياستهم لا تسمح بتوفيره رغم اننا رأيناه في مخازن العاملات بنفسنا!! -لا يسمحون لك باحضار او توصيل طعام او مشروب من الخارج يرغموك على الشراء من مطعم و كافيه الفندق و الطعام سيىء و قائمة الطعام محدودة جدا و الاسعار غالية بشدة -العمال يبدون مكتئبين و يائسين لا يبتسمون و لا يخاطبوك اصلا لا يضعون عيونهم بعيونك حتى لو حدقت بهم و انت تكلمهم يتجنبون النظر اليك -الاضاءة سيئة و احترق مصباح في الغرفة فقاموا بفكه و تركه مفتوح -مفرغة الهواء تحت الثلاجة سقطت بشكل مفاجئ ليلا بدون سبب بمفردها كان هذا مضحكا لكن م خيف ايضا -السرير المزدوج كان عبارة عن سريرين منفصلين تم دمجمها و السرير الثالث كان عبارة عن اريكة سرير تفتح بصعوبة -يقدمون العصير و الماء في بوفيه الافطار بدرجة حرارة الغرفة! دون ثلج ، و انواع الخبز و المعجنات باردة -خيارات الطعام محددة بشكل غير سار و ليست لذيذة و تقدم باردة او مُعدة بشكل سيء و فقط تم تحميتها بالمايكروويف -الايجابية الوحيدة هي موقع الفندق و شكله من الخارج جماليا لطيف كما ان عمال النظافة و خدمة المطعم رائحتهم لطيفة يضعون عطر لطيف وهذا فقط ما هو ايجابي ، انا اعتذر عن الاطالة لكن اتمنى ان يكون هذا مفيدا و دقيقا كما انه ضروري لاننا اصبنا باحباط شديد و خيبة امل رغم توقعاتنا العالية و تجاربنا الكثيرة بالسفر..واتمنى ان لا يؤثر على عمال و موظفين الفندق بسلبية لان لا ذنب لهم يبدو عليهم اليأس و الضجر بسبب كثرة الشكاوي و صدمة النزلاء حين يرون ان الواقع لا يشبه التقييمات و الصور..اتمنى ان يعيد فريق الأدارة و المستثمرين تفكريهم و تغيير سياستهم السيئة و النظر بعين الاعتبار لهذه الاراء والملاحظات The service and staff attitude were terrible; the place doesn't deserve even a single star. I suspect the five-star rating is a relic of the past, and the hotel has gone downhill over time—which explains the steep discounts. The staff seemed hopeless, cold, and indifferent to complaints. We stayed for five miserable days—forced to remain due to personal circumstances and the location's convenience—but we will never return, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it. We arrived at 1:00 PM with pre-booked rooms, yet the check-in process was significantly delayed. We didn't get our rooms until after 4:00 PM; the wait was tedious and exhausting, especially after a long journey when all you want to do is rest and sleep. Housekeeping was superficial; they didn't clean under the beds or change the sheets. There were no bathroom slippers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, or prayer mats provided. When we asked for these item s, we were told it was against policy—even though we had seen them ourselves in the housekeeping staff's storage areas! - They do not allow you to bring in or have food or drinks delivered from outside; they force you to buy from the hotel’s restaurant and café. The food is poor, the menu is extremely limited, and prices are exorbitantly high. - The staff appear depressed and despondent; they do not smile or even speak to you. They avoid making eye contact—even if you stare at them while speaking, they look away. - The lighting is poor; a light bulb in the room burned out, so they simply removed it and left the fixture open. - The ventilation panel beneath the refrigerator suddenly fell off on its own during the night for no apparent reason; it was a funny incident, yet also frightening. - The "double bed" was actually two separate beds pushed together, and the third bed was a sofa bed that was difficult to open. - At the breakfast buffet, they serve juice and water at room temperature! ...no ice available, and the bread and pastries were cold. - Food options were disappointingly limited and unappetizing; items were served cold or poorly prepared—often just reheated in a microwave. - The only positives were the hotel's location and its attractive exterior; the housekeeping and restaurant staff also wore a pleasant fragrance—and that is truly all there was to it. I apologize for the length of this review, but I hope it proves useful and accurate. It is important to share this because we were deeply frustrated and disappointed, despite our high expectations and extensive travel experience. I hope this feedback does not negatively impact the hotel staff, as none of this is their fault; they appear weary and disheartened by the constant complaints and the shock guests feel when realizing the reality does not match the ratings and photos. I hope the management team and investors reconsider their poor policies and take these opinions and observations into serious account.
