Grand Plaza Hotel

We stayed here for two nights while in Tirana and the hotel is simply brilliant !! Great location, nice rooms, we got a complimentary upgrade, the touch screen elevator system, awesome showers and most importantly the staff. They can't do enough for you, ever smiling and happy to help. A special thank you to Elcid from the front desk who took time out of his personal day to assist us. Now that is going beyond the extra mile.

I stayed at the Grand Plaza when i attended the 19th East Mediterranean Tourism and Travel Exhibition from 20-26 January 2015. For a first time visitor to to Istanbul i quickly found out that staying at the Grand Plaza had an added value to doing business as well as exploring the city. It was convenient to be right at the foot of the Metro-Bus station but most of all i was humbled by the hospitality shown by manager Saadet and his colleague throughout.

Dear Tripadvisor, I am writing in regards to my awful stay at the Grand Plaza hotel in instanbul on the14/10/14 until 17/10/14. I had a very bad experience, upon arrival the receptionist demanded in a very rude manner to pay for our stay, even though I already paid prior to expedia. After proving that I had already paid, he then asked me to pay for breakfast, which was already included in our booking charge. I found it very frustrating and the argument I had with the receptionist lasted a couple of hours due to his stubbornness and unwilling to recognise that he was in the wrong. Finally once the argument ceased, I went to my room. Once I saw the room, I was very appalled by the state of the room- it was untidy, not clean, the bathroom was dirty and had a very bad aroma. The next day, I had the same argument regarding the breakfast payment even though I had already paid and sorted with the previous receptionist. They ignored all the confirmation and documents and we had to pay for breakfast . The breakfast was awful and not even worth the argument I had, it was insufficient with dry bread and it was also mouldy. The tomatoes were unwashed, flies were on the table and there wasn't any drinks. No one cleaned the rooms until I had to phone up and only then was it cleaned in the evening. On the last day, I requested a wake up call at 5am in order to catch my flight back home, they agreed and said that it has been done. The following morning there was no wake up call and we therefore had to rush to the airport and we nearly missed the flight. This is unacceptable and I do not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel as everything about it is despicable. Mr M.Ali Eastbourne UK
