Guest House Harbiye

I have chosen this guesthouse because its location was good, rooms did not look bad and the hotels I stayed frequently was full. I have been to Syria and Mexico, traveled more than 10 countries, stayed in 12-bed dorm rooms and hostels and never had a security issue. But in this hotel I had. I left my room at 9.30 and came back at 17.30 and I find that my room was not cleaned but somebody got into it, removed a curtain (that I have not removed before) thus revealed the fire escape door (why is it located there?!), opened the fire escape door and left it like that. Nobody knows who got into my room, why s/he did that. I had every valuable thing with me so I had no problem with this. Staff was only able to apologize, make non-sense explanations and nothing else. This shows how hopeless they were. I had no attempt to check security cameras if they had any, or talk to other staff of the hotel. Absurdly they offered one free night without thinking why someone would stay in an unsecure place. Moreover, drain of the shower was not functioning so bathroom got flooded. Shower head was rusty and chipped. Cleaning was not good. On the ground of the bathroom there were hairs. There was a hole on the sheet. I could not get any breakfast because (although I informed them on when I was a breakfast previous day) I took them 45 mins. to get fresh bread so I had to leave by that time. I cannot "not recommend" this place more. DO NOT STAY HERE.

I have stayed in this hotel twice this year (March & November). The location of the hotel is brilliant, only a couple of minutes walk from Osmanbey metro station & about 15-20 minutes walk from Taksim. I stay here with my Turkish boyfriend & we have no problems. The rooms look very modern & clean & the staff are lovely. Will definitely be staying here again

Very nice staff mainly in the daytime. Close to osmanbey station ( subway) and lutfi kirdir congress and within walking distance about 15 minutes from taksim square. The street is dark at night and weird with some ancient houses. It seemed a poor neighborhood but it was safe, even at night. Great price. Spacious and clean room with comfortable bed , nice pillows, good shower but an average wifi in the room, sometimes not working or very slow. Good A/C. I had a terrace in my room but the view wasn't so attractive because it was from the back of the hotel. Free coffee and tea available but no breakfast. I recommend it.
