We just spent a week in the Aya Sofya room. The mattresses were not top quality, but were satisfactory. Everything else was wonderful. The room is large and tastefully decorated. It has a queen bed, sofa bed, sitting chair, large closet, fridge, iron, tea kettle. We loved the location--close to Galata bridge, but down an alley where most tourists don't wander. (Take a taxi, and have the driver call the staff for directions, or you won't find the place.) Our windows looked over the water. The restaurant under the hotel serves wonderful fish at much better prices than the tourist restaurants on the bridge.
This is not a hotel with round-the-clock staff. it is a set of suites/apartments for rent. The staff were very helpful and speak excellent English. Great location, close to tram stop, and to the Tunel (which connects to Metro.)
